Beautiful Resort

Lovely room, beautifully furnished lobby with lots of sitting areas, pool area, great private patio outside our door that overlooks Charleston Harbor and the pool area. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Matt Early does a great job there, Ethan goes above and beyond recommending nearby attractions and providing directions. Birthday Weekend

I love this resort.I will definitely visit again.This is he perfect location to stay,we were so close to every place we wanted to shop and dine.This is a beautiful resort.I love the view of the ocean in the mornings with the curtains opened. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Magnificent resort!

We stayed at the Beach Club at Harbor Resort and Marina in Charleston for (unfortunately!) one night. It was absolutely gorgeous inside and out with beach and boat motifs. The check-in area was at desks in a side room and not your usual check-in counter which was a little harder to find. The staff could not have been any nicer and welcoming! Our room on the fourth (highest) floor was stunning with an enormous bathroom with separate shower and tub areas, cozy bedroom area with two queen beds with an electric fireplace (which was turned on before our arrival), a lofted ceiling and a large balcony overlooking the marina, cruise ship terminal and downtown Charleston across the water. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of pillows and the room was so cozy on a cold winter day! It was extremely quiet—couldn’t tell if we had any neighbors except for the fact of them having do-not-disturb signs hanging on their doors! The location of the resort is perfectly situated and was a quick and easy drive to downtown Charleston. The only issue of note: upon checkout, when you approach the security gate, you need a card/ticket in order for the gate to open. We weren’t given one and had turned in our room keys so the only way for us to leave was to call the resort for assistance to get them to open the gate. You would think the gate would automatically open when a car approaches for departure but that’s not how this property works! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Stay

Overall, we thought the resort was beautiful. I have been traveling to Charleston for 30+ years and usually stay at Wild Dunes, but thought we would give this resort a try since it was winter and we didn’t mind being further from the beach. The location was great and close in to the city as well as the restaurants in Mount Pleasant, IOP, and Sullivan’s. Check in was smooth and our room was ready way earlier than check in time so we were very appreciative of that after a very early morning flight. The lobby had warm beverages (hot chocolate and I believe coffee) available through the day as well as courtesy umbrellas on the rainy day we had which was great. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the bathrooms are large. Fireplace in the room was a nice touch although we did think it would have been nice to have a heating element on the balcony instead of the room for the chilly days. Regardless, we did enjoy the in room fireplace. Balcony views were great and a nice place to watch all the cargo and cruise ships come in/out. We attended Oysters on the Point (monthly series during Oyster Season) that is free for hotel guests. We were not told about this at check in and found it on our own research. It would have been nice to be told as we had to get wristbands that we were not aware of until we called to ask. It was great and my husband raved about the oysters he got. There were only a few minor issues we ran into-mainly with room service and housekeeping. We didn’t request housekeeping the first day, but did on the second. Housekeeping came while we were out, but did not replenish toilet paper or give us a room service door tag to put out for breakfast the next morning. Not a huge deal. We called for breakfast in the morning and asked for a tag to be brought up for the next morning, but room service also didn’t bring one. Our food also took quite a bit longer than the 40 minutes we were told it would (for oatmeal and a bagel). We were in our room a good bit of that day and took the do not disturb off our door hoping housekeeping would come and we could just get a tag and toilet paper since we didn’t need a full room cleaning. We even left a note that said that when we left the room. No one ever came though. Finally at about 4 or 5 we called down to get the things we needed. We put a tag out for breakfast the next day for a specific time as we had a flight to catch. I had requested a bagel with butter. The attendant dropped the food off late and I soon realized after he left that there was no butter or any other spreads for the bagel. Again, mistakes happen-no big deal-so I called to get the butter brought up, and after 30 minutes still no butter. I ended up just eating a cold, dry bagel as we had to leave for our flight. No one came with it in the 45-60 minutes before we left. This was particularly annoying as I had even left a very generous tip on top of the tip they added on. When I had called I just said that our food was just dropped off and unfortunately there was no butter or spreads so if someone could run them up that would be great. The person basically repeated what I said and hung up on me? Maybe they misunderstood somehow? The only other thing would be the temperature in the room. I believe the thermostat was locked so we couldn’t put the temperature down to where we like it (about 68 degrees) and the mini fridge hovered in the upper 40s-low 50s. This was fine for our waters but we ended up throwing out some snacks we had intended to keep in there since the temp wasn’t at proper level to keep them at. All in all, these are minor things and would not discourage me from staying at or recommending the hotel to others, but they are things that take a resort to a higher level. We enjoyed our time at the resort and would consider it for winter trips in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
