No towels on the roof here :)!

Apr 23rd, 2019

On our last vacation at Sandals Barbados(which, overall, is still a great resort) it was noticeably lacking attention to detail, very slow service and had a discarded towel on a sloped roof near the main pool for everyone to see the entire week of our trip. No towels on the roof here at Beloved. In fact, service here was some of the best we've experienced! This was our first visit to this resort, although we've been to lots of other resorts in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Riviera Maya. This is one of our new favorites! The resort is small with roughly 100 rooms spread over beautiful grounds. It is located about 25 minutes by shuttle north of Cancun. Our room was large and clean with a large balcony. The A/C worked well and our bed was comfy. We booked a regular room with a slight ocean view in the main building and were very happy with it. Our building was the furthest from the beach but still just a few minutes walk to the ocean. There are also several smaller buildings with a few rooms each located closer to the beach with their own plunge pools but we never felt like we made a mistake choosing a basic deluxe room. My wife loved the Bvlgari amenities in the shower and we had a large closet with a safe easily big enough for our tablet, etc. The WiFi was a bit sketchy at times but if I logged off and back on I could reestablish connection easily. The food was very good with 4 dining spots for dinner, 2 for breakfast and 2 for lunch. They never seemed crowded. We enjoyed them all and really liked lunch at El Mar on the beach. This is a very relaxing place to enjoy a refreshing drink, good food, a nice breeze and taking in the views. We personally preferred having breakfast at Isla Grill but the buffet breakfast in the main building is also nice and a bit quicker. Dinners were something to look forward to but if you like a medium rare steak I suggest requesting rare to get medium rare. The complimentary glasses of wine were free flowing and decent(if limited selection) although we did order a bottle of wine for several of our dinners. The price for a bottle is excessive but typical in resorts. We also liked the complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. Although not "champagne" it was pretty good and always cold! The main building's Lupita Lounge is where most of the evening entertainment happened and things usually wound down around 11 pm. The silent party one night was a blast! The other nights had singers or bands or a casino night one time. There was a server there who was the best and that is saying a lot as all the servers at the resort were excellent! He would remember our drinks(dos cava) by the 2nd night and bring it within minutes of sitting down! I think his name was Alberto. He was the main server at the Lupita Lounge during our evenings there that first week of April. He even got people up dancing on occasion! Finally, mid week we took a 20 minute ferry to Isla Mujeres from Puerto Jaurez, which is only a 10 minute taxi from the resort. The island town reminded me of a smaller Playa del Carmen with lots of beach area, shops, bars, restaurants and sights. You can even rent a golf cart which is the best way to explore the island, although you'll need a drivers license to rent one. The island is well worth a visit, in my opinion. As I mentioned at the start, Beloved is now one of our favorite resorts and I can see us visiting many more times! Safe travels! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place for a quiet romantic getaway!

Apr 22nd, 2019

We decided to take a long weekend away to Cancun and wanted to do a higher end all inclusive. Beloved was beautiful, the service was incredible and the food and cocktails were excellent. It’s about a 40 minute taxi ride from Cancun airport. Once we arrived on Friday morning we had no reason to leave the resort until it was time to go home on Sunday afternoon. If I had to knock the place at all it would be that the rooms were kind of dated but they had everything you needed and we felt quite comfortable. We felt extremely safe the entire time and there was no one on the beach trying to sell you anything. We have stayed at other all inclusive resorts and felt Beloved was excellent value. Relaxing All-Inclusive for Couples

Apr 22nd, 2019

Beloved is an absolutely beautiful hotel and perfect for a relaxing couples get-away (went for my honeymoon). For an all-inclusive, the food was very good, the drinks were a bit weak but serviceable. There are four restaurants, french, Italian, seafood and steak. All were similar and only lightly themed, but the food was consistent. Would have been nice if there was more/better Mexican cuisine. The staff was uniformly excellent, we went on what we thought would be a busy week and the resort did not feel at all crowded and there were plenty of staff at all times and the staff was very attentive. The beach is lovely and the pools were very pretty. The hotel did have a few activities every day but this is not the place to go if you are looking to be entertained (the excellence resort next door is much larger and has more entertainment). If you are looking for a very relaxing experience without a lot of planning we thought this was a terrific value. We upgraded our room from one of the detached units to a slightly larger room in the main building. We were told it would have an ocean view but it didn't really. It doesn't really matter though, the property is small and all the rooms will be fine. Probably the rooms in the main buildings that are not a corner would have less light. The "swim-up" rooms are probably not worth it, the pools are easily accessible and we never had trouble finding seating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
