Homelike comfort!

May 12th, 2020

I stayed at The Benjamin for a month when I came with a medical team to work at a hospital in NYC. This hotel exceeded my expectations - my room was perfect for an extended stay! I was happy to have a kitchen area and living space. It was very clean and all of the staff members that I encountered were extremely friendly and receptive to any requests. Despite it being difficult to leave my family behind for a month, it felt so nice to have such friendly people working there that greeted us in the morning when we left for work as well as when we returned many hours later. These workers made my experience so pleasurable even though we were there for difficult work!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding service and fantastic location

Apr 29th, 2020

I stayed here on business in March 2020, and was extremely impressed by the staff's dedication and accommodation. My 2-week trip was cut short due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis, but before leaving a number of my meetings and presentations were changed from in-person events to conference calls. Anya the fabulous concierge helped to arrange use of the business event rooms to set up our computers for these meetings. Even though she too was facing a cancelled trip to celebrate her birthday, she went above and beyond to make her guests feel better. Thank you Anya! I would definitely stay here again. Fantastic hotel

Mar 14th, 2020

We stayed here last year after booking as part of a BA package and I'm so glad we did! The staff are all really friendly and helpful and when we got there they'd upgraded us to a suite as it was our first wedding anniversary, they even left some goodies in the room. The suite was lovely, so spacious with a MASSIVE comfy bed and the toiletries in the bathroom were great quality too. Didn't have much of a view from the room but that doesn't matter when we weren't in it much. It's a great location, close to central park, grand central station, Rockefeller, times square etc. I'd say the only drawback to the area is the nightlife - it was either really expensive hotel bars or Irish pubs, nothing really in between. Next time we visit New York I would probably stay further down so that we experience different areas but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We love this hotel and have stayed here several times. Upon our arrival, Jaime provided excellent service and was very welcoming! The rooms are fantastic, always clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in a great spot in the city. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A terrible hotel

Mar 4th, 2020

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room is minuscule. The king bed advertised on the web site is in actuality a double. The bed itself - lumpy and uncomfortable. No nightstand on both sides of the bed - a critical point for someone who wears glasses. Even though this room was billed as a suite, it appears to be a large room with a wall dividing the space. It is so small that there is no place to set out a suitcase to enable unpacking without tripping There is luggage rack, but it is so old and wobbly that when a suitcase is placed on it, it moves around, rendering it useless. The bathroom is non functional with a sink that is about 12 inches in diameter. No counter space for two people to put down toiletries beyond a toothbrush. The Room Service coffee tasted like bilge. There is a balcony, but the door to go out is broken and doesn’t open. So that is no longer a nice or useable feature in the room. Lastly there is the matter of the front desk staff - cold, unwelcoming, unhelpful. Will never return here again. Urge others to stay away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
