Building Life Bridges. The Bridge at Cordova is like Life, it is what you make it :)

Feb 9th, 2016

I had a great time at The Bridge at Cordova in Ft. Lauderdale FL!! I am in transition moving from TN. Found an apartment, I am now back Home! I felt very welcomed by the staff/mgmt, Kathy & Luis had great care and nurturing warmth. I stayed a total of SEVEN nights. I even called late a few nights when even my own 'family' would not let me rest on their couch. Luis found a place/bed for me each time! They never once closed the door on me :) Yes, some paint, and improvements here and there would help. But overall a phenomenal price. Residents here even got together and enjoyed Super Bowl 50! Really liked the baked chicken. I brought football shaped cookies. :) I will be living very near and look forward to see smiling faces again. I am grateful. God Bless. -Luis Antonio Navarro. HOMELESS

Feb 1st, 2016

If your options are The Bridge at Cordova or being homeless…seriously consider sleeping on the street and saving your money! In all my years of travel, I have never stayed in a more rundown dilapidated disgusting motel. There is mold, mildew, and bugs everywhere! We booked (and paid for) The Bridge at Cordova after visiting the website and my husband talking to the manager, Cathy by telephone. The pics on the website have to be five plus years old. I can almost guarantee that nothing has been done to that property since those photos were taken. The once pretty flower beds are full of weeds and trash. The rooms are dirty bug filled petri dishes of mold and mildew. The furniture is broken, and looks like it could have been picked up on the side of the road. The mattresses are old stained and horrible, as are all the linens and towels. I actually felt dirtier after taking a shower than before...the bathroom had only been half-way painted to cover up the mold and mildew growing all over the walls and ceiling. They either ran out of paint or just gave up. And the bugs…oh my god, the bugs! They were all over the counter in the kitchenette from the moment we checked in, and the problem only got worse as our stay progressed. Bugs were on every surface, and even in the bed! I found ants crawling on me more than once! After leaving, we had to fumigate our luggage and our laptop, because they had crawled in it as well. Now on to the other “guests” at The Bridge at Cordova… They are not travelers…they are “lifers”. These are people that obviously get some sort of government check. (mental disability, if I had to guess because they seem to be physically fit enough to work) They are always there in various stages of drunkenness and undress, no matter what the hour. Not to mention the fact that the security/manager, Luis stays drunk with them. And don't even get me started on the drug use in the open. This is DEFINITELY not a place for women or children! I used to work in property management. This place needs to be closed down and condemned immediately, for numerous code and health violations. I will be contacting the proper authorities... Not the same, used to be a great mariners hotel

Oct 1st, 2015

I know it was September and previously that month had many openings and very quiet. The management OK I understand wanted the rooms full, but to just anyone? The location is still good, and the staff mainly helpful. But it is now very disappointing. Not the same great vibe as before. And the Captains Quarters rooms have lost there luster. And once a good find is no longer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dishonest health violations drug abusers drunks rats Bed Bugs ect.

May 20th, 2015

My experience has been so disheartening, I am sick due to poison of the bed bugs, It makes me sick & not them. The management are crooks & constantly LIE, Their is NO Gym, Never was. Rats are a major problem too,Cockroches & Flea's as are crack heads stealing everything you have if not tied down to you! I complained about the poor living conditions & bed Bugs biting me constantly (No sleep) and was kicked out with no refunds! Jorge is a slum lord & his manager tim chandler is a racist who lies to keep his job! Really the scum of the Earth place! I haven't been able to notify The Broward county Health dept. why is it so hard to let them know of such massive health problems there? Avoid at all costs! I was so sick I couldn't leave as soon as I wanted & they Never clean the place! The Wifi almost never works ether, power goes out, they don't pay the garbage bill so it stacks up & STINKS bad! Almost as bad as the low life management! DOG Feces in the room along with vomit & Urine! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
