Expensive cuisine
Since the 17th century, The Buccaneer has welcomed guests to its charming retreat along St. Croix's picturesque northern coast. Guest rooms and suites at this U.S. Virgin Islands property are elegant and simplistic in design, featuring bright blue-, green- and salmon-colored decor and modern amenities like satellite TVs with DVD players, minifridges and private patios or balconies. Although it lacks ultra-luxurious amenities like lavish bath products and Jacuzzi tubs, previous visitors said they felt completely relaxed and comfortable thanks to the resort's accommodating staff and numerous family-friendly activities. While the youngters make new friends at the Kids' Camp, adults can take a swing at the 18-hole golf course or turn up the romance on a sunset sail for two. Recent guests also praised the cuisine served at The Buccaneer's three restaurants, although many lamented the high prices.
