Great Rooms!

Oct 8th, 2019

Great location in the middle of Kennebunkport. Each and every room is different and very beautiful. We were in Marylords room. Fireplace large bathroom with heated floor. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. They will help you find all sorts of things to do in and around town. There are two seatings for breakfast. 815 and 945. With a set menu. All very good! Beautiful living room to sit by the fire and room to play games. Cheese crackers and some sort of sweet are laid out in the afternoon. We now understand why so many of their guests are repeat customers TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Merchant Suite Perfect, Down to the Finest Details

Oct 7th, 2019

When you travel all the way to Maine from Dallas, Texas, you don't skimp on the hotel room. We stayed in the Merchant Suite at Captain Lord Mansion. You can see from the pictures that this is no ordinary B&B. This suite, in a 200+ year old mansion, is over-the-top beautiful, comfortable, and wonderful. It must have taken the owners a while to collect the decorations and plan the remodeling. Real oil paintings throughout the suite. Two fireplaces, both of which we used in late September. A heated bathroom floor (have never seen that in ANY place we've stayed) felt wonderful on our feet at night and in the morning). A shower with eight body jets looked needless but also felt wonderful. The huge bed needed steps to climb up into, and once you did you felt surrounded in comfort. Many, tall windows lit up the room, or not when the shades behind the beautiful curtains were pulled. No matter where you looked or what you touched, the details had been well thought-out, right down to the Poo-Pourri spray on the toilet tank lid. The included breakfast was also top notch and it was nice to chat with other guests about traveling on vacation in Maine. The couple who have owned this magnificent property and continued to improve it for the last 45+ years is in the process of selling it so they can move closer to grand children. I would bet that the new owners plan on maintaining the renown of Captain Lord Mansion. It is a marvelously unique property. If they are booked on the dates you'd like to stay in Kennebunkport, change your dates. It's that good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming, luxurious B&B

Oct 5th, 2019

We stayed for three nights at Captain Lord Mansion in September, and had a brilliant time. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the room and common areas were really comfortable and well appointed, and the food at breakfast was great. The location is ideal for the short walk into town, and also for a morning run along the coast to Walker Point. Our only criticism would be that when we checked into our room the gas fire had been left on all day, and the place was like a sauna; as a result the check-in process was rushed and we didn't discover the chocolate strawberries or sparkling wine we had pre-paid until the last night of our stay. Would highly recommend, and would stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very positive experience

Sep 24th, 2019

We stayed three nights in the Garden House's Daniel Room. It was a wonderful experience for our first trip to Maine. The room is beautifully decorated and spacious and the generous closet, dresser, and storage in the bathroom made it easy to settle in. We appreciated the delicious breakfasts enjoyed while chatting with other travelers, the easy walking distance to town, sitting on the screened porch in the late afternoon, the tasty snacks offered in the kitchen, the beautiful gardens on the property, the friendly staff and so much more! Excellent in all regards

We stayed for two nights in the Garden House at the Captain Lord Mansion. It’s excellent in all regards. The service is outstanding, the room was comfortable with modern amenities, and the furnishings show a lot of class as well as history. Baylee cooked the best breakfasts from scratch- Blueberry Pancakes with Maine baby blues and the next day a “stacker”- Potato Pancake on the bottom, slice of ham in the middle, topped with scrambled eggs with cheese sauce on the side. Yummy Yummy. We definitely want to return. The gardens around the premises are spectacular and were in full bloom. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
