Ok. Could have better waiter staff.

Generally speaking it was a good stay. Clean accommodation. Poor restaurant service though. Delivered food and never checked back in with us. No mini bars in the room. Would be nice to have additional beverages and snacks in the room or in some sort of capacity. I was not able to find anything in the hotel outside of the restaurant hours. The restaurant should open earlier, such as 5:30 AM. It’s currently 6:30 AM and that is too late for busy business travelers. Steph is nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Beauty and comfort

My husband and I came to the Charmant for the second year in a row. The fall colors on the drive from Minneapolis were stunning. The Charmant is unique and special in many ways - you never want to leave. Early check-in and late checkout - this is a plus, you can check in at 3 and checkout at noon Food - everything here is so good that we didn't even care about visiting other fine La Crosse restaurants. There's a coffee shop right in the hotel with great coffee, breakfast sandwiches and rolls, specialty hot drinks. In the restaurant, the breakfast menu has standard favorites, executed very well, but also creative choices such as the carnitas hash with shredded pork, sweet potatoes, black beans and queso fresco. Delicious, as are the cornmeal pancakes and homemade sour dough toast. Happy hour - just a few choices for happy hour food, but they're great. The burger was not a slider as expected, but an absolutely perfect medium sized burger with excellent skinny fries. The roasted peppers were great too. They have specialty cocktails that are different and fun. The dinner menu has a good variety of choices and price points. The restaurant looks out to the river, and you're in for a beautiful sunset. The building, decor and atmosphere is sophisticated-yet-cozy industrial vibe. They've brought elements of the building's origin as a candy factory into the mix, such as the big pulleys used in the restaurant ceiling lighting. And yet everywhere is comfort. We had a River Vue King room, very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The Charmant is a few steps from the Riverwalk. Another gorgeous place to visit is the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, just outside of town, has many pretty walks and things to see. We plan to make an autumn visit to the Charmant an annual event. But it would be great any time of year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
COzy and Inviting

Everything about it was wonderful. A charming place to spend a quiet evening or celebrate an anniversary. We were treated so well by everyone we encountered, a very attentive staff. Rooms reflect the old world charm of the candy factory it once was. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Highly recommend this hotel. Rooms were adorable and staff were very helpful. The restaurant had great food and a knowledgeable waitress. The request for additional towels was taken care of promptly. The only issue was the tv in our room had some issues but not a big deal as it was still watchable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great, great location.

Hard to be perfect in the time of Covid, but they come close. Easy to get around. Bar, restaurant, coffee shop and candy shop; all good and all right there. Everyone in the hotel (and La Crosse) was friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, super bathroom (except the small soap bars). An excellent base to wander downtown and the river. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
