Visually delightful hotel on Campus

Aug 20th, 2019

We stayed at Graduate one night to visit family in the area and were completely thrilled by the cleverness and charm that this hotel exudes. The retro Northwoods campus vibe is incorporated throughout the hotel in both the public areas, hallways and guest rooms with gilt framed footage of old football game loops, framed prep blazers and keycards that are old school i.d.s being some of our favorite touches. The room is very comfortable and well laid out with a spacious bathroom. The lobby of the hotel offers up lots of space for working on your laptop, a fire pit and air hockey and bar shuffle board games just outside the restaurant. Staff was wonderful. Parking is $20 in the hotel lot, but you can park in the public lot which is directly attached to the hotel by tunnels for $13 if you don't need in and out privileges. Street parking is free from 10:00pm to 6am if you're going to be up early! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Failing grade

Aug 15th, 2019

I'm told the hotel was renovated a couple years ago. I find that hard to believe. While the room was generally clean, the bed was uncomfortable and the shower was horrible. The water pressure was weak and the shower head didn't tilt so you had to stand at the very front of the shower almost touching the front wall. The height of the shower was also low. Desk staff always busy/inattentive

Aug 5th, 2019

We've stayed at this property many times, including back before it became a Graduate hotel. The property itself is quite nice. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. My biggest complaint is the desk staff. Increasingly, it takes forever to get service at the desk. Even when there aren't a number of guests in line waiting, it seems like staff is continually on the phone or on the computer. Even when you're the only person in line, it takes them a long time to recognize you're standing there. A simple "Hello. Can you wait just a second while I finish this." would be nice. We stay at many hotels across the country, and I have to say the wait time at this hotel is the worst. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Parking is very difficult

Aug 2nd, 2019

Hotel is decent but the rooms are small and parking is nearly impossible. Ended up having to park nearly 9 blocks away and taking a taxi as the ramps were full. Avoid this hotel unless you are on foot or do not have a car. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Graduate is my new favorite hotel chain- this hotel will be my first choice for every city I visit

Aug 1st, 2019

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. I am obsessed with the mid century vibe- the design aesthetic is really fun. Down to the fish wallpaper in the bathrooms, and the hanging display in the lobby, I loved all of the super creative details. The common areas including comfortable seating areas and air hockey tables were fun and entertaining for my 13 y/o boys. The restaurant was adequate, and was nice that they had an outdoor seating area. The location on the UM campus is within walking (or scootering/biking) distance of the populated student commerce areas. We had a blast riding the scooters around the college campus. Loved the natural toiletry options. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
