Just left after staying 4 nights at the Crane. Really feels like the hotel is purely trying to cash in on 'quarantine stays'. The Crane representative greeted us at the airport, but wrongly I thought the message might have been passed to reception and led to our arrival at the hotel being far more slick than the hour long wait to check in and complete forms which I'd already filled online. Given the stresses of travelling, an offer of a welcome drink, or arriving to the room to a light snack and a cold beer, would have made the whole experience so much more appealing, but alas we had to make do with an empty fridge. Covid test was straightforward thankfully. 'Contemporary' room was spacious, but lacked cushions for loungers or pool towels. Cleaning was lacking and didn't expect to have to clean up previous guest's DIY haircut. Guest relations staff really did not have the 'go the extra mile' attitude and struck of a budget hotel, than 500usd+/night. Any request took hours (toilet paper, towels etc) Feels very much like the vibe of the old Almond beach hotel; dragging its feet and not spending a penny on anything that might make a guest's stay slightly more than average, waiting for the day the bulldozer comes to knock it down. Really doesn't live up to its expectations or price point. And doing Barbados a disservice with its below par hospitality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rashad was helpful and professional. Otherwise it is not even close to being good value. Uncomfortable beds and staff that rarely says hello when you pass by. Average food low end recliners and towels. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Staycation failed !

My initial reservation was for three nights from Nov 19 but I checked out one night early because I just wasn’t satisfied. Upon making the reservation I told the agent I was checking in on my birthday and was expecting a warm greeting, maybe a card or balloons but it wasn’t acknowledged and I didn’t fuss because maybe something would happen the next day. I left the resort for the entire day only to return to see that my room 952B was not serviced by HSK. I called the Front Desk twice but got no answer. I was over that so I just made the bed myself. The buffet breakfast was not great.. awful to be honest! The staff especially the gentleman at the entrance was welcoming and nice. I applaud him. I am writing this because I live in Barbados and I worked at a luxury hotel in Guest Services before COVID. This was just unacceptable.. I’m sorry and I know you can do better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wonderful staycation at The Crane

We recently celebrated our 24th anniversary at The Crane. Although it rained our entire stay and Covid protocols were in place we had an enjoyable time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. We dined at 3 on-site restaurants (Zen, The Grill and D’Onofrios) each with its own flair. There is also delicious bakery and several shops (which are currently closed). The beach is clean and private for guests which was quite nice. I do warn that the ocean, while pretty, is quite rough on this side of the island. There’s a big sand bar but unless you’re a strong swimmer I’d recommend not venturing too far out. Daredevils can try cliff jumping at their own risk. Our room was lovely and quite spacious. We had a villa with our own plunge pool which was nice. Some of the rooms have their own full pools. The only thing I’d change is all of the dark furnishings. I personally like brighter colors for the beach. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We came to the Crane as part of our COVID requirement... and would come back again to enjoy this gem. We were apprehensive about traveling, but what a relief to have found a place that takes the protocols seriously....hand sanitizer everywhere, masks worn by all, on site testing and follow up and room service made being quarantined was not an issue. We were tested on our second day here and received our test results within 24 hours which gave us the ability to move around the resort without restrictions. The beach and pool....plus the large property without crowds was just what we needed. The staff is truly wonderful and always helpful and the food, top notch. Thanks to all for making this a safe haven!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
