Fun place to stay, amazing hospitality & location

Sep 19th, 2020

I traveled to the Curtis from Los Angeles with my lady for our anniversary. Courtney was definitely our go-to point person throughout our stay. She was extremely pleasant, knowledgable, and as customer-centric as anybody working in hospitality could be. The hotel was walking distance from local coffee spots, eateries, and shops. This was a fun overall experience and we would highly recommend it! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

LOVE this Hotel!

Sep 14th, 2020

I have stayed at the Curtis once before and I will never stay anywhere else in Denver. First time I stayed here I was on the Sci-Fi floor and so this time, I booked the Ghostbusters Suite. Whilst I was disappointed the green ghost was not in the room (I assume someone stole / broke him), it was still themed to the hilt. I also had fun going to each floor to heck out the other themes (some much better than others). The lobby, the staff (who gave us some great food suggestions) and everything within is just great. I have zero hesitation in recommending this hotel for any fun minded guest who doesn't take life too seriously! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent stay in two different themed rooms

Sep 4th, 2020

I had a total of six nights at The Curtis - three nights in the Video Game themed room and three in the Ghostbusters room! I must admit I booked this hotel almost solely because they had these pop-culture themed rooms. I thought that was such a cool touch. Indeed, I was very impressed by the Video Game room which actually featured a good old-fashioned arcade machine in the room itself. So damn cool! Wow! I can't believe they had a room like that. The arcade was excellent, and offered a number of different games - classics such as Donkey Kong, Pacman, Asteroids and Bombjack. I had lots of fun playing the machine, and it was a wonderful nostalgia ride to my youth in the 80s and early 90s. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, with a fairly nice bathroom as well. It was also very clean, with all the COVID-19 precautions and measures in place, albeit there was no housekeeping during my stay. It was only available upon request. The hotel also didn't offer breakfast (except for Saturdays and Sundays I believe) and for the most part, the restaurant on site seemed to be closed or very quiet. In the room, there was a fridge, but no mini bar, so I'd recommend stocking up on snacks. Due to the hotel's central location in Denver, there are many places nearby where you can buy stuff for the room. The reception area also had a fridge with soda and water. Overall, the room offered most of the amenities I would expect of a Hilton, including good Wi-Fi and a good TV with lots of channels. The AC also worked fine, although it was very noisy. My Ghostbusters room was also super cool. It had a framed photo with autographs from the cast, and a very cool mural. There were also a nice effect on the floor, which looked like slime, and some cool photos from the movies. As a huge fan of Ghostbusters, it was definitely fun to stay in that room (and we watched the movie on a laptop while staying there, of course). The floor and public places were horror-themed and decorated with some very cool things from classics like The Shining and Poltergeist. Indeed, many of the floors each had a theme - like superheroes, TV shows and more. Really cool touch. Overall, a great hotel in a very central location and it was fun to stay in the themed rooms! I would definitely stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

UNDERWHELMED

Aug 17th, 2020

Stayed ONE night, 8/8/2020. This hotel is marketed visually EXCEPTIONALLY well, it does NOT deliver It's located on a dismal street blocked by construction lanes, NO curb appeal whatsoever. Automatic parking in a scary, DARK parking garage. Entrance from garage was dirty and unkempt. Dismal lobby, and everything looks tired and not cared for. We saw NO staff no staff present except One front desk person. Restaurant was closed when we arrived, unfortunately much later than we expected, about 8 pm NO restaurants open within walking distance that we could find, front desk did not even tell us about the lovely restaurant garden a couple of blocks away, which we discovered later. Room underwhelming and small - NOT decorated, terrible AC and the bed was like a rock. We saw no staff at all during our entire visit. No breakfast except a Starbucks a few blocks walk away. Checked out and left before 10 am. STAY ELSEWHERE!!! Really disappointing. You can't blame Covid for DIRT TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
