Wedding weekend ruined

Jan 26th, 2020

We booked 5 rooms for our wedding at the Desoto the weekend of 1/25/2020 thinking that the location to our wedding venue would be great. It was, but that’s the only thing that was good about this experience. We arrived with no assistance with our luggage, wedding dress, etc and were given a room that was under construction, dirt everywhere on the floor, equipment on the balcony and a danger sign on the door. We were then moved to another room and immediately the shelves in the closet broke, the TV and AC didn’t work and also had a danger sign on the door. Our breakfast order was not picked up and never delivered. The next day, the day of our wedding, we were moved to a new room. This room was half the size of our original and what we paid for so we were upgraded to suite 420. We finally got into the new room around 9:30AM and our wedding was to start at 12:30PM. As the bride, when I went to shower there was NO HOT WATER. I had to shower in my friends room because when they finally addressed the issue it was 10:45AM and they said it would we would have to run the water for 30 min before we would get hot water. We still didn’t have hot water to shower the day we checked out. When we did check out they comped our room however their system broke down during our conversation and they could not give us final bills for our stay. The level of customer service during our stay was so poor it became laughable. I can honestly say this hotel is not where you want to stay, especially if you’re getting married in Savannah. This was a complete headache and major disappointment. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing food and servers

Jan 24th, 2020

We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was the best pork tenderloin I ever had. The mac and cheese was amazing. Our server Gabbi was right on top of everything. Her and Gary perform like a restaurant dream team. Kudos to chef Tim for the incredible food. Can't wait to go back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely incredible!

Jan 24th, 2020

I came here with my fiance to have a nice celebratory dinner and the staff at 1540 made it a night for the books! For appetizers we had the Foie Gras And pecan crusted tuna. Our server Gabby made the recommendations and she was on point. Chef Tim came out to our table to ask how we liked everything and recommended we try the scallops and pork belly and the catch of the day which was a sword fish. Thank you also Chef Tim and William. At the end, the manager who I believe was named Matt came out to say hi and make sure we were enjoying everything. Everything was spot on and the service was even better. We then went up to P&p and Shane made us some specialty cocktails. Overall, the best part about our DeSoto experience was the staff. 12/10 will come back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
