Bucket List ✔️

Nov 15th, 2020

40 years ago, I saw the Don CeSar for the first time and said that I was going to stay there some day. So, we stayed in Siesta Key for a week and had an extra day on our hands, so we made reservations. We had a beautiful stay. Drinks on the beach (thanks to Keith) were delicious!! An umbrella and chaise lounges chairs came with our stay. The pool had too many young children running around, so he stayed on the beach. Our room, 474, was newly renovated. Gorgeous. Had dinner at Maritana- fantastic. Great wines too. Breakfast outside at the Sea Porch was delicious as well. The service was outstanding at all restaurants, at the beach, front desk, bellmen and in the shops. Thank you for making my dream come true! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Another bad experience

Nov 9th, 2020

My wife and I have been visiting the Don Cesar for nearly 20 years. Long enough that we have seen three complete renovations of the property in that time period. Maybe we have bad luck or bad timing because the last two times we have stayed have not been good experiences. The construction noise made it impossible to conduct work at the desk inside the room. Unfortunately, when we complained we were only offered a $100 credit. At The Don, that amounts to four drinks with a tip. Not satisfactory for the conditions we put up with. The Manager was supposed to call us but that never happened either. I will still visit the Maritana Restaurant when in the area but we will not be staying there anymore. Good bye old friend. Grand old hotel gets a pink makeover

Nov 2nd, 2020

The Don Cesar never disappoints! We stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms and it was beautiful. The old bathrooms appear to have been completely gutted and now include new showers and fixtures. The bedroom featured USB power outlets and comfortable furniture. Although we avoided indoor activities due to Covid, the new lobby bar looks beautiful and will fit more people. The new Maritana restaurant also looks beautiful. I was sad that Uncle Andys is no longer an Ice Cream parlor. But It lives on as a combination snack and coffee shop that sells Ice Cream. Staff were fantastic. Katie was the perfect food server and Mathew made the Beach experience fun and memorable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Expected impeccable- it was not. Doing our part to support local business, planned a staycation. It’s all well and good that renovations are being made, but please don’t put people in rooms on the floors that are under construction. The mess, the ply board lined hallways, and the noise made for a disappointing experience. For the price, you expect sand free pathways, not faded cushions and tired looking exterior furnishings.
