Great hotel, great location, great staff.

Great hotel, great location, great staff. I recommend this Hotel. I had a small and minor issues when I arrived regarding my room, but the hotel was able to solve it quickly. I liked the fact that the manager of the hotel sent me messages before and during my arrival to make sure my staying was going well. I appreciate the attention. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bad service.

Jun 22nd, 2019

It’s very apparent at this place you are a number. Staff not friendly at all. I left a shirt behind, called an hour later and was brushed off. Everyone we dealt with seemed to not have time for us. At this price they should be decent at least. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Single Worst Hotel Experience of My Life (but the staff is nice)

Jun 22nd, 2019

And we’ve only been here a few hours! The TLDR version: - We were given a worse room than the one we booked - The “queen” bed is a full - The hotel feels very old and rundown - The walls are paper thin - We were woken up to loud drilling early on Saturday; one side of the building is undergoing facade work - And we haven’t even had breakfast yet; I wonder what other issues await us! - But the staff is nice My fiancé and I flew in from Los Angeles for a wedding at the Drake. We knew we would require a late check-in (1-2am) so we called the hotel early the day of to let them know, and to ensure the room we had booked—a king bed room—was available for us. Upon arrival, we were informed they had to give us a queen bed room “because of inventory”. That’s annoying given the fact we had called ahead and booked the room almost a year in advance, but fine—we’re reasonable people, and the hotel staff was apologetic. Upon getting to the room very ready to sleep we discovered the “queen” bed is at best a full bed. Again, annoying, but not the end of the world; we just desperately wanted to sleep (2/230am at this point). And the hotel offered to move us to a new room for the following evening. The rooms are, in a word, gross. They look like they desperately need to be gutted and redone as other reviews have noted. And the walls are paper-thin—we could hear every sound our neighbors made, who were, naturally, awake and...let’s just say “making noise” until 4 or 5am. We were then woken up at 9am (again, finally fell asleep around 5am, and we’re on West Coast time) to EXTREMELY loud drilling. There was a construction crew literally scaling the side of the building, doing work on the facade while we were trying to sleep. Oh, and as noted by other reviews, the common spaces, elevators, hallways etc. look rundown and like they need to be redone. Upon calling in the morning to also complain about the drilling the hotel did rush housekeeping and move us to a new, larger room with a king bed. This was a nice outcome, but one of our two nights has been completely ruined, and now we’ll be spending a good chunk of our “free day” in Chicago in bed. Do yourself a favor, stay elsewhere. Terrible

Jun 21st, 2019

My room was from another century with a view on the hotel AC...nice...,food at breakfast was awful (I went to the four seasons hotel for my breakfast...5 min walking distances...and it was great!), I did not try the room service as I was too scared...I went to a nearby fancy Italian restaurant called spiaggia...great food...to come back to the review: public spaces were terrible...this hotel needs urgent and total renovation...the neighborhood is quite nice and posh...but just pick another hotel if you can and wait for a total refit...
