Amazing! I want to live here :)

Jan 10th, 2021

We adored Gallery Inn -- so unique, filled with art, music, tropical birds, cool rooms, plus a gorgeous pool, gardens, and rooftop with a 360-degree view of the whole city. This is a truly special place. All the rooms and unique, the owner is fabulous, and it's across from the ocean, plus walking distance to lots to eat, see and do. Would absolutely come stay again! Unique and beautiful

Dec 10th, 2020

I’d most definitely stay here again if I’m back in Puerto Rico. Don’t be fooled by the bad reviews. They just can’t take some uniqueness and are looking for a boring Hilton. Stay here if you’re looking for an authentic Caribbean experience with friendly service. The location and views can’t be beat. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Magical 1 night stay

Nov 10th, 2020

Honestly regret that we had only 1 night to spent there. The mysterious design, the vintage furniture, the history, and atmosphere make me want to move there to live! Thank you for the great experience, and thank you, Octavio( hope this is the correct name), a young gentleman at the front desk, for your help and conversations! I am planning to come back for my birthday with a group of friends for sure :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stunning, magical place. I will return

Sep 20th, 2020

The Gallery Inn is more experience than hotel. It is like a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel come to life, complete with magical realism. It is a maze of incredibly beautifully decorated lodging rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. To bar is decorated with gorgeous, huge chandeliers and a player piano, and you get there by walking through the maze that is the main floor of the hotel, through a gate which takes you onto a large outdoor patio, down stairs, past the pool (which is less pool and more water-filled maze surrounded by sculpted heads) and finally arrive at the bar. It's amazing. The beds are comfortable (I slept in two, because my room wasn't ready the day I arrived). The roof of the hotel offers literally the best view in Old San Juan, because it is the highest point in Old San Juan. The hotel faces the north, so the view from my room (on the north) was stunning. The forts are on either side of the hotel - to the west and the east - and are a short walk away. Sculpture created by the owner as well as portraits painted by her sister fill the hotel. Finally, the owner is remarkably gracious and elegant, as are her beautiful birds. Finally, I traveled solo and felt completely safe and welcome my entire stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A hidden treasure in San Juan

Sep 2nd, 2020

My experience in this hotel was amassing . This hotel is not about size and amenities. It is about gracefulness . I had a very large room. The room is called" The Ocean view."First , the ocean view is not deceiving. It is real. A perfect ocean view . Art is everywhere . The owner I believe her name is Jan walks around with her parrot which knows how to say coqui . A sound you will hear from a native frog you hear at night. The restaurant bar is small and very classy with limited food however, what they have is very good quality with fine choices. Staff is so sweet and accommodating. The hotel is as old as the fort (500 years) and takes you away from the modern world to the Spanish era. I was impressed with this treasure considering I found it last minute online . I would not choose this hotel if you have a large family. It's perfect for couples on a romantic journey. Perfect to impress your date, or spouse. The pool is just beautiful and the rooftop offers a panoramic view of the ocean and the city I gamble this pick and won. My apologies about not remembering names but the young slim guy was just so courteous as well as the pm girl. Book it!!! :-) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
