We spent three night here. All services were great. We ate in the bar, restaurant and got room service- all food was high quality. The trolley was excellent- we used it to go to Universal (10mins away) and the Metro station (5mins away). We needed some documents printed which they printed for us at reception. The pool area is lovely- plenty of towels and loungers. All staff were friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Such a great hotel!!!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Garland during a conference in 2018. From I walked into the doors of the hotel it was like a departure from reality and step back in time but in a good way. The hotel has a very retro look but a very modern feel. The guest service agents were genuinely happy to help as we checked in and made very sure that all of our needs were met. The hotel itself is laid out in a very interesting way but it makes for great exploring. I loved the colour scheme as well as the decor. Wonderful gem in L.A and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great place for Corporate Events!
Apr 16th, 2019
We recently had a global sales event at the Garland. We had about 15 employees stay there and used their corporate meeting facilities, from food and beverage to AV rentals. The event was a complete success. The staff was prompt and courteous, food was amazing and all around experience was first class! I would definitely use them again for a corporate event as well as a great travel destination. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great hotel near Universal Studios!
Apr 13th, 2019
The Garland is a wonderful place to stay for families wanting to visit Universal Studios. The room was large with a nice bathroom and comfortable beds. They have a great restaurant right next to the hotel. Very nice dinner menu and the breakfast was delicious! Both the breakfast buffet and menu items were outstanding. Two other nice benefits of this hotel are the pool and the free shuttle to Universal Studios. My daughter and many other children staying at the hotel loved the pool! The shuttle was great! Very prompt for pick up times to and from Universal Studios. I believe they left the hotel every hour and you were able to return to the hotel late into the evening. So we had plenty of time to experience most all of the events at the Studios. A great hotel for a family adventure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Return trip to The Garland (last visit 17 years ago) What a Change!
Apr 11th, 2019
Stayed at the Garland as we had a couple of days passes to Universal Studios. Last time we came, we brought our then 10 year old son (now 27) and the place was under the weather, so to speak. This time, it has gone from being "The Beverly Garland Hotel" to just "The Garland". Beautifully renovated, decoratively stunning, and quite comfortable. We snagged a deal on Groupon (now expired) a few months ago for a Deluxe King Room for $165/night for 2 nights for a total of $330, plus tax of 71.78 = $401.78, minus a groupon discount code of $33.00 for a total of $368.78 ($184.39 per night total). Paying for parking at the hotel was $25.00/day with a $2.50 tax on the parking ($27.50) = $55.00 added to hotel bill our entire 2 day stay was $423.78 - So really $211.89 a night out the door. They included a bottle of wine in this deal, which are always in the room for purchase, but you can have one and there is no charge. This area of town is high in taxes. We shopped around pretty much, but what we were interested in was proximity to Universal Studios, and transporation to/from there. Mind you, the "Deluxe" King room is their basic King bed room. I'm unsure what the label of "Deluxe" is. The room is not overly sized and is what you would expect in a standard room. A very small balcony, and our room's balcony faced the parking lot. If you want the "Deluxe pool-view king" you'll pay extra. But again, these are "standard" rooms. The next step up is called "Premium". We were fine in our standard room, since we were gone most of the time. The TV was great, lots of channels, which we enjoyed after our long day and plopping into bed and channel surfing. I should mention, there is a small refrigerator in the room, so bring your food! Something important travelers should know - If you're planning your arrival on the same day you plan to take their "Trolley" shuttle to the park, you need to arrive before 12:30pm. The trolley takes a break between the hours of 12:30pm and 3:00pm. If you arrive too late, then you'll need to make other arrangements for transporation to the park, unless you wait until 3pm, but the park closes at 6pm on weekdays. We did not know this. Arrived at 12:15, and during check-in, realized after looking at the schedule, we had no time to get our stuff into the room. I got us a seat on the trolley while my husband parked the car and we were off! We did not have any meals at the front yard; we had packed our own food for breakfast - and took snacks to the park. However, of note, the front yard has two daily happy hours, one of which they call a "reverse" happy hour, that begins at 10pm. We did enjoy getting into the hot tub at the end of our day. There are two near the pool - good sized ones, and one just for adults! Last - the only problem we had was at check out, we asked if our parking card would still work until noon so we could get out of the parking lot (as we planned to walk over to see the Brady Bunch house a few blocks away (eh-hem... don't bother); and we were told yes! No problem! But at 11:50am, we pulled our car to the gate, stuck our card in, and were told we would have to pay $7.50. I had to exit the car, run to the registration desk, explain our predicament, and was handed a one-time exit ticket. Run back to the gate and get us out of there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
