Lovely and Friendly Hotel in a Perfect Location

Dec 4th, 2019

The Hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance to all of the major sights, plus within easy walk to public transportation if you prefer not to walk. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. They assisted with anything anyone needed and always had a smile on their face. The refreshments in the room are a wonderful plus including the welcome treat, which was so tasty. The bathroom is spacious and toiletries excellent. the bed was comfortable and the room spacious. and it was perfectly quiet! Overall this was a wonderful stay and i would return and recommend. 5 stars TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Simply brilliant. A new favourite.

Dec 3rd, 2019

It's been a while since I posted a review but I felt compelled to share my experience of The Guesthouse. This will be my ninth visit to Vienna but our first at this hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it without hesitation. Vienna is the perfect destination in the run up to Christmas so we were looking for a hotel that was modern, comfortable, efficient, relaxed and not stuffy or formal. This place ticks all the boxes. You can't beat the location - the Albertina right in front, the opera house further up, Kärtner Strasse, the main shopping streets and St Stephens all nearby. All the other main attractions, restaurants, cafes, Christmas markets are all within walking distance. For me, the standout quality about The Guesthouse is that they have thought of all the things that matter to their guests. We opted for the Superior room facing the internal courtyard, no view but definitely the most quiet. Despite being these being the hotel's smallest rooms, the clever use of space meant that the room felt spacious. The beautiful shower room (and separate closed off toilet), the sofa, coffee table and TV at the other end of the room, the complimentary water and soft drinks in the mini bar (nice touch) and coffee machine (with fresh beans!) by the door – all designed with the guest in mind. It didn't stop there. The front desk team are fantastic. I emailed the team several times prior to our visit to request a quiet room and to book a car from the airport. All replied and dealt with within the hour. Need to take a tram? The front desk will give you tickets and charge them to your room. The restaurant and in-house bakery is one of the most popular places for breakfast in Vienna among locals and visitors. Our rate didn't include breakfast but we asked for a table for Sunday brunch and they gave us one of best tables. Overall our visit to Vienna was really enjoyable and The Guesthouse was a real highlight. Just look at the other reviews! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely comfortable

Nov 21st, 2019

My wife and I visited Vienna for the first time. This was the hotel my wife researched and picked. Pros (ranked by importance) 1) The hotel reception staff and butler was absolutely polite, very professional, friendly and helpful. Very personalised service. Deserved a 5-star rating. 2) Absolutely clean and spacious room for a couple. 3) Provided two single duvets instead of one is very thoughtful and most preferred. Nice to have a coffee machine in the room which is much needed in sleepy afternoons. Most amenities we needed were provided in the room except a kettle. 2) Complimentary wine and beverages were great. However they forgot to stock the wines upon our checkin. It was hard to stay sober with 4 complimentary bottles of wines replenished daily. lol 3) Location was bang centre. Opposite the Albertina and Opera House and minutes walk from the city centre where St Stephen's Cathedral and main shopping are located. Cons 1) Shower area was all glass and sliding door from bedroom to bathroom area was also glass so if you are not sharing the room with your partner/spouse, it can be kinda awkward. The toilet had no ventilation whatsoever. 2) Handwash wash was in a bottle (not a bar soap) so everytime I needed to wash my hands, I have to open the bottle. Switching on the sink taps (which did not have a grip) with soap in my hands was very challenging. lol 3) They do not provide a kettle (for tea lovers) so you need to call reception so they can arrange hot water to be brought up. Easily the best hotel we stayed in during our Euro trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I stayed here in August with my son. We loved it. The room was modern and very comfortable, and I loved the fact that the mini fridge was stocked with full bottles of wine and other drinks and it was all included in your room rate, so you could relax with a glass of wine in your room after a day of sightseeing. We also loved having breakfast on the terrace. The staff were all very friendly and professional. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect stay

Nov 18th, 2019

I have stayed in the hotel with my parents as a present for my mum´s birthday and we could´t have asked for a better stay. Hotel is super comfortable and perfectly located. rooms are spacious and very high standard and the "reading windows" are just perfect to relax between or after any activities. The Brasserie is top quality. Can´t recommend enough. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
