The best hotel in our 12 week trip around Australia and NZ

Apr 3rd, 2020

We were not expecting to find such a fantastic hotel in Tasmania. Situated in a brilliantly restored old warehouse with exposed beams, stone and brick and loads of art. this hotel has been designed with style and imagination. Our room, 201 in the eaves, was a wonderful, large, well appointed space with a glass box containing the bathroom, a spa bath and massive shower. The lighting everywhere was excellent. If I had to be nit picky, the sockets weren't very accessible but otherwise the room was perfect. Breakfast was also first class although the service was a little hit and miss. Yes, it's a little expensive but worth every penny for such a luxury experience. We'll absolutely stay here next time we visit Hobart. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Top notch place to stay

Mar 27th, 2020

I have to agree that it's a bit pricey, however this place is extremely unique, quaint, full of character, and centrally located. You really don't need a car until you are ready to explore the surrounding countryside. We had a studio loft this trip and while it was lovely, would probably opt for a different room if we come again. It's just a personal opinion, but we got tired of going up and down the stairs especially since the bathroom was on the bottom level. This might not be an issue with other folks. Breakfast was good, well prepared, fresh and plentiful. One tip is to get it included with your room when you book as it is fairly expensive on a day to day basis. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to help in anyway. Do take the art tour they offer. It was very nice. Highly recommend especially for special occasions. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Hotel but Not a Great Value

Mar 23rd, 2020

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in a Deluxe Spa Room at approximately $300 US per night. We liked the hotel but felt it was overpriced. On the plus side, the front desk personnel were top notch. They also provide free valet parking which was a nice surprise. The room was reasonably large and well appointed but had a few quirks. E.g. there were no nightstands by the beds. A pillar partially blocked your ability to watch tv from bed. Also, they don’t provide free bottled water. Our rate did not include breakfast but we ate there one morning. The food and service were very good but the price ($A30-$A35 each) was approximately double compared to nearby places for similar quality. The best feature of the hotel is its location. It’s within waking distance of some tourist attractions and lots of bars and restaurants. We liked the following nearby restaurants: Hobart Brewing (beer + food trucks), Frank Restaurant, Society Salamanca (cocktails) and Lower Mures (breakfast). I understand why many people rate the hotel highly. I will likely shop around for a better value on my next trip to Hobart however. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic place to stay

Mar 21st, 2020

We very much enjoyed our stay here. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location is great close to restaurants and nice for evening walks. Valet parking takes the stress out of finding somewhere to park TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Remarkable food.and service

Mar 20th, 2020

The visual beauty of the building is remarkable however it is the outstanding staff and dining.that will bring me back. My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with drinks at Ixl bar and dined at Landscape restaurant, the experience can only be described as remarkable and one we will never forget...
