Old school beauty in the heart of Nashville

Jun 15th, 2019

If you're looking for an old school hotel, beautiful surroundings and don't want to be right in the middle of Nashville nightlife, this is the place to be. The building itself is beautiful, from the grand lobby to the bar to the amazing Art Deco gents' toilets (yes, you do need to visit, even if you're female!). Our room was comfortable and clean, looking out towards the state capitol, which was quite something for us as first timers in Tennessee. All the staff very helpful and drinks in the bar is an experience you need to have. While it's not slap bang in the heart of the action, it's near enough to walk, and far enough away that you don't get all the raucous noise. Puckett's is just round the corner for breakfast, and there's plenty of bars and restaurants without going into the belly of the beast that is Nashville. Not cheap, but if you're looking for old fashioned service, beautiful surroundings and comfort, this is the place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our fifth week of travels throughout America brought us to The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be special. No 1. staff love their work. At all times their aim is to please guests to ensure they have the most glamorous, memorable & comfortable stay. It worked! Our room was quality, beautifully decorated and perfectly maintained. The Hermitage Hotel is one of our all time favourites. Thank you Hermitage we love you 💕 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The moment you walk into this hotel you realize you've stepped into elegance, class, superior service and luxury. We spent 3 nights in this classic built in 1910 and refurbished in the early to mid 1990's. It is absolutely stepping into history too, The deluxe room was lovely, well furnished, quiet and so clean and comfortable. The beds are so comfy that one simply wants to stay in bed. The mattresses are custom made for the hotel. There is a 5 star restaurant at this hotel which we enjoyed tremendously for the food and atmosphere. Adjacent to this classy restaurant is the Oak Barrel Bar with great decor, bourbons and overall atmosphere. You can also order a meal. The location is perfect and within walking distance of the Ryman, Broadway, Titans Stadium, the State Capitol buildings, local restaurants etc. All I can say is if you want class, luxury and superior service then this is the hotel of all hotels in Nashville. Also, a huge shout out to Terri Johnson for assisting me and correcting an issue which verifies the superior type of service you will get at the Hermitage! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Classic Hotel

It was absolutely beautiful! You felt like you stepped back into time. The lobby area has beautiful details and stain glass on the ceiling. The restaurant on site was also very good and not crowded. A great place to stay if you dont want to be in the heart of the nightlife. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quiet, convenient and really lovely

This is a beautiful hotel, something to look at. The location is great if you’re seeing a show or want to check out downtown, as both are a walk away. Short, albeit hilly blocks to broadway. Our room was a great size with a very comfortable bed. Nice and quiet. Loved the bathroom, great shampoos and bath soaps (Molton Brown!) and a beautiful shower. Perfect place for a 3 day weekend. Great staff. Cannot rate the food since we didn’t eat at the restaurant. But there are many great spots to get coffee and other things. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
