Charming boutique property that is dog-friendly
Lobby coffee area gets crowded, some say
The close proximity to the High Line isn't the only thing this hotel has going for it. Recent guests found nearly every aspect of this Chelsea hotel charming, from the quirky room decor, including a vintage rotary phone, to the hotel's history as an old seminary to the property's French-style garden outfitted with an Intelligentsia coffee truck. Although, some warn the lobby and coffee area tend to get crowded. The hotel's friendly and attentive staff was also a standout among recent guests, some of which were relieved they didn't experience the pretentiousness typically associated with trendy boutique accommodations. Guest rooms at The High Line Hotel are well-appointed with C.O. Bigelow toiletries, stocked minibars, flat-screen TVs, windows with blackout shades and complimentary Wi-Fi access. There are no extra facilities on-site, but guests can make use of the hotel's complimentary bikes as well as arrange custom picnic baskets to take on their adventures around the city. This dog-friendly hotel also prides itself on being one of the first tablet, counter-less check-in hotels.

Critic Reviews

Business travelers are attracted to the hotel for the authentic and charming meeting and event rooms that are located in Hoffman Hall, directly next door.

Condé Nast Traveler

The hotel may be especially appealing to writers, given the building’s history—it once belonged to The Night Before Christmas author Clement Clarke Moore—the abundant presence of old typewriters, and the property’s claim to the city’s fastest Wi-Fi.

Its interior is as grand, though delightfully quirky, with rooms that look like they could have been inhabited by a Gatsby type in the 1920s.
