Was upgraded to Ocean drive suite on top of news cafe. Large rooms suite with big balcony looking down on Ocean drive and park and beach across the street . Cannot beat smoking a cigar on balcony and checking out the action right below on Ocean and 8th . Great treatment from staff especially if you from ny and tip well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

nice on the surface, but....

the place looks great but when it comes to attention to details there are problems: my room looked fine but there was only one single lamp for the entire room. the lamp in my room didn't work. i reported this an hour after i checked in: the lamp remained broken for the duration of my 4-night stay. the only other way to light the room was with glaring overhead lights, not exactly pleasant. also this lighting scheme isn't great for those of us who like to read in bed. the location if the hotel is great: a block from the beach. i asked for a beach towel and was told i could get one for free from any of the lounge-chair vendors on the beach between 8th and 9th streets if i told them my room number. as it turned out there were NO lounge-chair vendors on the beach between 8th and 9th streets. small details? when i'm paying over $200/night i expect more. Lovely hotel in South Beach

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Small boutique hotel only one block off ocean in South Beach. Art deco decor with very clean rooms and pleasant and professional staff. We were only able to stay one night, but really wished we had made plans to stay longer. Will definitely do so next visit. The little restaurant off of the main lobby was very pleasant to sit outdoors and enjoy breakfast. Also felt this hotel was very reasonably priced, especially given it's location. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The hotel staff were very friendly. We were a block from the beach and the beach work out/recreation area. We were also a block from Ocean Drive where most of the restaurants are located and the night life. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Location, location, location

Loved being in walking distance to everything. But not great for noise especially during spring break. Old hotel with thin walls & windows. Small, simple rooms look nicer in pictures. People are very nice & it’s a kinda cool place to stay but next time we will look for more comfort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
