at the The Inn at Venice Beach
A little gem by the beach!
Nov 7th, 2019
This was already our third time staying at Inn at Venice Beach and I can highly recommend this hotel! Location is unbeatable, staff is very nice and overall the hotel is clean and neat. Big bonus is their breakfast that is included in the room rate. Even though it is very basic - boiled eggs, bagels, toast, cereals, fruit, coffee and juice etc., it can keep you going well into lunch time. Several restaurants and bars just a few steps away and nice little market just next door so you can get some snacks and drinks to you fridge in the room. I can honestly say that we'll be back - hopefully soon :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Such a great place to stay, rooms are wonderfuL. Everything was so clean. Breakfast was very nice. Cute Patio to eat or just hangout at. Everyone was so kind and helpful with anything you need. Was a minutes away from the beach/restaurants. Will definitely be back to stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This hotel is not what it presents. I checked into my room and came to find wet sheets when I laid down for the first time. Housekeeping did nothing to resolve it. Spoke to the supervisor and she had an arrogant attitude about it. I do not recommend this place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is nice, but the staff is not. My rooms were not serviced many of the days I was there. I informed the manager and he did very little. It is difficult to communicate with the workers because they speak limited English. I would expect a hotel of this category to have better rates if they hire workers for low pay. I will never return. A pre-cruise intro to LA
Nov 4th, 2019
I had never been to LA previously and took some time on-line researching where to stay and am happy after three days in that vast city to conclude Venice Beach was a good base and the Inn at Venice Beach the right hotel. The Venice area is certainly colourful and enjoys a fantastic climate. There may be many apparently homeless people and certainly a lot enjoying an alternative lifestyle but the result of this mix is a welcoming and comfortable place with plenty of choice for places to eat, drink and sleep. The hotel is two blocks back from the beach on a busy main road. This takes you away from the worst of the seaside rubbish leaving you with pleasant eateries and bars used by locals as well as the tourists. On arrival in the early afternoon after a long flight and a $35 taxi ride from LAX the room was ready but it was on the front and so the traffic noise seemed intrusive. We were offered a choice of two alternatives and plumbed for a mini suite on the top floor nearer the rear/side of the building. This was much quieter and offered similar facilities but with a mezzanine bedroom upstairs from the lounge area. The extra cost per night was waived and we were certainly more comfortable. The Inn at Venice Beach is one of the few hotels here that offers an inclusive continental style breakfast. This was basically fruit, cereal and a selection of breads and spreads. Adequate and enough to see you through to lunch. This is taken on a self-service basis in a small serving room adjacent to a sheltered courtyard where most chose to eat. We used it each day before setting out and were welcomed to take some fruit for later if desired. The public areas and the rooms are all comfortably yet fairly basically furnished with a beach/surf flavour. Nothing over the top in terms of comfort but definitely clean and just as expected from my pre-trip research. All the staff we met were pleasant and cheerful. Our main interface was with Alphonso, the concierge, who was friendly and so helpful from sorting our initial room issues to giving directions, advice and booking trips. We would definitely stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
