Short version: We stay at B&B's or Inns as often as possible when on vacation. The Inn of the Five Graces is among the Top 3 we have ever stayed at. Long version: What is the difference between an 90% rating and a 99% rating? Both have comfortable beds, pleasant staff, are very clean, and generally deliver what is promised. The details that elevate an inn to the level of "extraordinary" are: ** The front desk staff greeted us by name when we checked in. ** All of the staff knew it was our 50th anniversary, and warmly congratulated us. The management delivered chilled champagne to our room with a beautiful hand written note. ** The room was cleaned immaculately in the morning and again with the turn down service in the evening. The timing could not be better, as the staff seemed to know exactly when we were out, because we never saw them. ** The heating and cooling system was whisper quiet. ** The accommodation was absolutely luxurious from frette sheets and thick large towels, to the huge beautiful tiled bathroom with deep soaking tub, to arranging the kindling and logs in the fireplace so all we had to do was light it. ** Every detail in the room was perfect, and the furnishings were very comfortable and stylish. ** Complimentary snacks - including excellent brie cheese and crackers, lots of water, soft drinks, etc. ** A Halloween surprise - a high quality chocolate bar, freshly baked cookies on another night, and corn chips and dip on yet another night. ** Our rental car had a defect. Our car valet Jayson took it upon himself to research the problem. He called us within 10 minutes to confirm it was a defect, and not simply a knob or button we had overlooked. Who does that? Well above and beyond the call of duty. ** Eric, another wonderful car valet said that the staff would gladly pick up something at the store, if we needed it. ** The entire valet staff brought the car around within 3 minutes every time we called for it - and had the heater on, so it would be comfortable. ** Barbara gave us a wonderful tour of the spa. She took such pride in the recent renovation. One of the nicest spas I've ever seen. One couples' massage room even has its own private steam room. After we returned to the room, I called down to purchase some lotion. Barbara had it immediately sent to the front desk, and it was delivered to our room while we were at dinner. ** The breakfast was made-to-order, with a selection of at least 10 items - all excellent. The entire breakfast staff satisfied every dietary restriction and request for substitutions. For example, from day 1, they had coconut milk for my coffee every morning. It's an item I am sure they did not ordinarily stock. ** The genuine desire on the part of every staff member to not just satisfy a request, but to exceed every expectation. ** The Inn is very convenient - just a 10-minute walk to many restaurants, the main town plaza, and not much further from popular museums. We highly recommend the Inn of the Five Graces. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A special place to stay in Santa Fe
Oct 30th, 2019
This is not a hotel with typical "Santa Fe style". The walls aren't all beige stucco with southwestie prints. This is a 5 star hotel and it offers 5 star service. It's a very small property. Our room was somewhat reminiscent of Morocco. There was lots of mosaic tile in the bathroom and colorful rugs on all of the wood floors. There was lots of color. It might not be for everyone. Someone looking for 5 Star reserved accommodations might be happy elsewhere. We loved the unusual nature and the personal service. They had a special note for my husbands birthday waiting in the room as well as a bottle of champagne. The small fridge was stocked with some snacks and lots of water and juices. Breakfast was great! Everything about the Inn of the Five Graces is wonderful. The rooms are great, the shower stall was beyond spectacular, the service staff is impeccable. The Inn is well-located to walk to the Plaza and to Canyon Road. We will return! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Exceptional staff, location and experience
Oct 15th, 2019
Stayed here mid-October for four nights to use as a base to explore northern New Mexico, and we reserved a one bedroom suite. Check in was a breeze, and we were walked over to our room across the street on the second floor. What a room! It was a full bedroom with a walk in closet, a full sitting area with a wetbar and stocked mini-fridge, and a giant bathroom with shower, tub and water closet. We were amazed at the size and decor of the room. Some of the pictures on line had me worried about sensory overload, but this particular room was beautifully appointed, from the tapestries, to the furnishings, to the detailed tile work..it all came together perfectly. The bed was amazing, affording us a solid night's sleep on an extremely comfortable mattress. The weather was colder than we anticipated, but the heating system was quiet and kept us comfortable. The housekeeping was terrific and invisible. The room was ready each day when we returned, and the nightly turn down service was a nice treat. Valets were impossibly quick, making our rental appear and disappear quickly as needed, and the front desk staff was helpful with any questions we had. Many reviews just touch on the breakfast that is included. We found it to be a highlight, primarily because of Vernon. He was bright and personable, and after the first day, was very conversational with us, offering tips, suggestions, some history, both of the Inn and the area, as well as a little bit of his own story. The food was very good as well, with enough options that you could mix things up and not be bored with the offerings. The location was also great, within walking distance to many of the historical sights, restaurants, shopping, and bars in the area. We found Inn of the Five Graces to be as nice as described in the previous reviews, and the location exceptional, with easy access to many other interesting areas of Northern NM. The only remotely negative issues we had were inconsiderate neighbors, slamming doors and being loud in the hallways (one morning only, thankfully); low water pressure in the shower, and watch out if someone uses the water in the sink while you are showering! And finally, the couch and many of the tapestries were incredibly dusty. I read a previous review where this was mentioned, and didn't give it a thought until we saw the dust motes filling the air and floating in the sunshine each time we sat or otherwise touched the blankets or furnishings. Definitely not enough to reduce the rating, just a comment for full disclosure. We highly recommend this Inn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My husband and I stay at the Inn of the Five Graces for 5 days. Everything about this hotel - the rooms, the service, the people, the breakfast, the location - all five stars. The room we stayed in - The Persimmon - was unlike any room we've ever stayed at. All beautiful art work, rugs and tile work. The hotel thought of everything when it came to the amenites. We would definitely recommend the Inn of Five Graces - you won't be disappointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
