The Living Experience is very tricky.
Jun 17th, 2020
I used Amex Fine hotel & Resort to book this hotel. I am always a fan of the Amex FHR travel experience. So I trust AMEX and when I went to Dallas, I chose to this hotel and I want to find out if it is worth me to recommend the hotel to my friend. The conclusion first - I will NEVER recommend this hotel to any FHR heavy users because this hotel is very TRICKY! First of all, the price shown on Amex FHR is way higher than the normal price. The same room for the same date in the official website without tax is $30 higher than the normal price. What is more tricky, when I check the price of the Joule Suite of the same date of the week next week (7 days later) at the official website, the cost of the JOULE SUITE exactly matches the cost of my DELUXE room. While on the AMEX booking system, the price of the same date and the same suite is $120 higher than the official website. OK, so now I know where is the $100 property credit comes from. It is from a discounted service and downgraded room. So why not save the $100 bucks that charged in a tricky way and spend in whatever our free will goes? Simple math, don’t be fooled. Second, the TRICKY part comes with the room type. Although on the official website, the DELUXE room seems to be in an acceptable style. The hotel INDEED has 3 kinds of different DELUXE room. One of which is totally unacceptable, very small, very crowded. So please avoid XX-01 room. You can see from Tripadvisor what the room looks like. This room comes with the 360 view. XX-06 will be a little bit acceptable if you really want to try the hotel. And AMEX FHR bookers, never dream of complimentary upgrading. It is just a legend for this hotel. OK? They always sold out all suites and primer rooms. And it turns out, even when you want to pay extra for a better room, there is none left except an at least $700 lofter suite which is 5 grade higher than the DELUXE room. Why not spend $400 and buy yourself an suite elsewhere? Why spend near $300 and buy yourself an small and not that fancy room? And the description on the official website is TRICKY. In description, the deluxe room comes with a Frette Bathrobe. A brand usually seen at 5-star Ritz-Carlton suite. You really think you can enjoy that with a less than $300 per night over-priced 300 sqft guest room? Also, there is no coffee machine in the Room, which, even 2-star motel would have one. In conclusion, this AMEX FHR choice is too TRICKY to chose. 1. If you consider a AMEX bonus and want to book the guest room, you will be disappointed because this guest room is too fair and you can definitely cost $100 less and book better. 2. If you want to experience the suite, directly book a suite through official website, please. Because you can never be upgraded and the suite cost will definite much lower than the price they provide to AMEX. 3. The room size, the room type, the room decoration and the providing in this room is not as the official website description. Please, Never book a deluxe room in this hotel. If you are a frequent traveler, if you know the market price for this kind of hotel, if you love AMEX FHR program, if you have read my comments and you still decide to book this hotel, you will eventually find yourself undoubtedly stupid. The Joule is back!
May 28th, 2020
The Joule just reopened and continues to set the pace for luxury hotels in Dallas. The vibe is still the best in town and the service is top notch. Special mention for Jessica Craycraft, who is the head of Sales and Marketing. I’ve worked with Jessica for years on larger scale events and consider her to be the consummate professional, as well as an incredibly nice person. Awesome rooms, awesome pool, and amazing staff. A+ all the way around. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Joule and the Eyeball

The Joule is the perfect name for this boutique hotel. It is outstanding. It is also hard to find. Look for the valet parking cones next to the sign for the Americano Restaurant. The hotel has valet parking. The European style rooms, complete with frosted glass bathroom doors had everything needed for a good nights sleep, including an ipad! Turn down service was provided with high quality chocolates left on the pillow. The incredible artwork in the lobby was delicious frosting on an already rich cake. The fitness room had the latest equipment, including a top of the line Stairmaster. The only downside was that the rooftop infinity pool was closed for repairs. But it was too cold to swim anyway. There is an excellent coffee shop that opens at 6:30 right in the building, as well as two restaurants. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
