Not 5 star service

Jul 20th, 2019

Mel and Matt were great and checking was smooth. Room was clean. Rebecca at the front desk decided to leave to stranded after the valet desk told me it wouldn’t be a problem for the shuttle to do a pick up. Had to call an Uber to come pick me up 1.6 miles from the resort and wait 15 minutes because it was early Sunday morning. Hardly 5 star service especially for the price. Definitely worth driving around the lake to the Ritz or Squaw Creek. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Love Love Love

Jul 20th, 2019

We've never been to Tahoe and not sure how, we decided to stay at The Landing Resort & Spa. So glad we did. We really loved our lake view room as well as the services available to us. Only room available at time of booking was an ADA room, but it was perfect! In fact, will probably try to get this exact room next year when we visit. Location to everything in this area was awesome. We would Lime and bike up to Heavenly Village area and it's just a short drive to the marina if you're renting a boat. Jimmy's restaurant, on the property, was awesome and had great service and meal. The outdoor dining area is perfect to people watching and for the views of the lake. At the Spa, we got one of the best massages I can remember. The cost worried us since we normally have mediocre massages at most hotels....but not here... Danielle was our therapist and she was outstanding. Only issue I had was a few interactions with front desk staff. Often made us feel like we were intrusion on what they were doing (surfing on iPhone or personal phone call). In fact, on day of check-out after I paid bill, I noticed they had champagne station. I got a small pour and the front desk lady walked up to me and commented, "Oh, are you checking back in"? I asked if the champagne was for new guests only (not offered to us when we checked in so I had no idea) and she said "yes". Other guests were in the lobby so it embarrassed me and made me feel small. She then laughed and said she was joking...it wasn't a joke, it was a backhanded comment.... however, I know its something going on in her life that she not happy with and not my pouring a little in my glass... at least I hope based on how much we spent with them while on property. Overall: A must stay location in South Lake Tahoe. We just loved it!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just okay.

Jul 13th, 2019

Stayed here over the fourth of July weekend and was not too impressed for the price we paid. The check in was a little hectic and I did not like having to use the valet service for parking. The valet wasn't always ready to get the car since they are also bellboys for the hotel. It was a little frustrating since we could see our car just around the corner in the hotel lot. The room itself, lakefront on the first floor, was very nice and comfortable. Housekeeping was inconsistent. I found a used Qtip on the floor of the bathroom from the previous guests. We also had to ask for more coffee since it was not replaced on one of the days. Overall, great location, nice room, but service needs improvement, especially for the price. I wouldn't consider this a four star hotel by any stretch. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good hotel

Jul 12th, 2019

My husband and I stayed three nights here. The hotel is in a prime position on the lake with its own private beach. It is a short walk from the main boulevard and shops, casinos and restaurants. Loved; the staff and service, the room decor, heated floor in the bathroom and the bed linen. It’s so unusual to get a top sheet between the duvet. I would’ve preferred a room above ground floor, our terrace was very public and so we didn’t get the use of outside space as much as we’d like. ‘Lake view’ was stretching it somewhat. The view was mostly road, cars and a fence. If you’re booking here and want a view of the lake, specify a room on upper floor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

2 nights 4th of July

Jul 10th, 2019

Booked a stay well in advance and reserved a two queen lake front room. The view was as advertised but the room small. Not the resorts fault web site pics and descriptions are accurate. Ok for 2 nights but for our party of 3 would have had to spread out for longer stay. Found out the non or partial view 2Q rooms were about 200sf bigger. Probably would have been the way to go . Staff (except for 1 brooding front desk person- not a great representative to greet arriving guests) were great , particularly valet guys and restaurant staff. Dinner and breakfast at jimmy’s we’re both really good and convenient. Hotel shuttle was also great on a busy holiday weekend. Booked the rooftop 4th of July bbq w band it was fun . Fireworks view a bit obstructed but the trade off of avoiding the beach crowds for viewing worked for us. Nice place for sure but some room for improvement around the edges. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
