Best of the best

On the whole trip we stayed in the best hotels and inns. The Langham beats everyone for friendliness and quality of service. Even room service is more thorough than most and the personal approach from the staff is almost touching. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Between 3* & 4* rating

Aug 16th, 2019

The hotel is centrally located if shopping and sight seeing are your main priorities on a trip to New York, which most peoples are. The room we were initially given was very dark with a view of a brick wall meaning no light was coming in at all, and had we stayed in that room this hotel possibly would have gotten a 2* review as the bathroom door in that room wouldn't lock, we had to get the janitor up on our arrival to fix it. We were lucky to be upgraded to a larger room with alot of daylight which dramatically changed my opinion! Pros: 1. Central location 2. Tea & coffee in reception every morning if you are in a hurry 3. The door staff were very welcoming and recognised us each day 4. There is a great deli around the corner for snacks, as well as a cute little French cafe next door Cons: 1. If you get a room with a brick wall view, it will not be pleasant 2. The hotel restaurant is not set up at all for any guests with the strange menu and decor, avoid at all costs! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic hotel

The hotel in a great location near Bryant Park. Many great shopping and restaurant nearby. My room on 23rd floor has full kitchen and wine chiller. The staffs are the most very attentive. The restaurant on the second floor is amazing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Gorgeous hotel, impeccable service.

Aug 13th, 2019

We stayed at The Langham for the last three nights of a three week holiday which included crossing the Atlantic on the Queen Mary. Despite that in terms of quality of room and service the Langham came out on top. The room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable with a gorgeous bathroom. You expect great service in the US but even then the Langham stood out as superior. Would very happily stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Would have been excellent stay if not for the rude night staff

Aug 12th, 2019

The hotel is in an excellent location close to many shopping as well as the city's many tourist attractions. The room we stayed in was spacious and well maintained. The hotel lobby is small and can get very crowded. There are times when there would be an extended wait for the elevators that could do with a refresh as the wood panelling are showing wear and tear. Though most of the staff were were friendly and accommodating, an experience we had one evening left a sour note to what would have been an excellent stay at the Langham in NYC. My travel companion who was a registered guest came back at the hotel one night at around 2AM. She left her card key in the room so couldn't get access to the hotel. She waved to the person behind the desk so she would be allowed in the premises but was given a hard time. My companion also requested for a replacement key card so she can access the lifts then our room but was told to wait coz he is doing an audit and even asked her why can't she call me to let her in. She politely told the staff that she is a guest and would like a key card replacement. The staff did not give her one but eventually escorted her after making her wait to the elevator to give her access to our floor without saying a word. He did not even confirm her identification and is a clear security breach for just allowing anybody to access the hotel guest floors. The following morning, we spoke to one of the hotel managers and though she was apologetic told us that she will investigate the matter and get back to us. We neither heard back from her nor was given an explanation of the very rude experience we encountered that night. It just shows how one experience can effect what would have otherwise been a pleasurable and enjoyable stay at a hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
