Best hotel in Boston Marathon

Apr 18th, 2019

Just stayed at the Liberty hotel and was simply amazed at the excellent service and fun vibe. This is a hotel built in an old jail and the staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent food. EJ (?) was amazing as was Ahmad in room dining. They gave us a full spread of marathon food and after the race the lobby was full of people enjoying food and music. Perfect hotel. Also I will add that prices are a little steep but I guess you pay for what you get. We will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overpriced

Apr 17th, 2019

This hotel is conveniently located with just a three minute walk to Mass General Hospital from the front entrance. The hotel lobby is attractive and rich in history (it was once a prison). Our room had a nice view of the Charles River and the Boston skyline. The room was incredibly overpriced and unpleasantly small. The bathroom was nicely appointed and the shower was a shower stall - again, very small. The Italian restaurant, located in the hotel, was excellent. Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations as a "Luxury Collection" hotel. We were very disappointed and we would never stay in this hotel again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Again buyer beware

Apr 15th, 2019

Location is good. Extremely large/LOUD parties on Friday and Saturday nights. These happen in the main room/reception. The staff doesn't care nor will they help you wheel your suitcases thru huge crowds of drunk people. This hotel is far from a 5 star. I've stayed all over the world in Marriott 5 star resorts and I'm extremely disappointed. The staff doesn't care and seem to be trying to survive the situation. Room is very small. I've never had staff seem so uncaring in a luxury property. Choose another property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beware on Friday and Saturday night

Apr 12th, 2019

We arrived to check in at 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. Although the building is historic and beautiful they turn the lobby and bars into a CLUB with music at full volume. The check in desk in literally in the middle of this scene with Drake playing at full volume. We had to scream to be heard to check in. We were assured our room would be quiet which it was. However, we never stayed and left after 5 minutes because every place to get food was also in the CLUB. We had traveled 2 flights from overseas, had jet lag and wanted a simple bite of food. We are Marriott members and will never go there. We spoke to the manager (he had to come to the curb outside because you can't talk inside! Clearly they are catering to the club clientele on weekends and NOT hotel guests. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay, but horrible check in experience

Apr 8th, 2019

We arrived an hour after check in. We have a newborn at home so I was already overdue to get to our room and pump. Our room wasn't ready yet. The gentleman at the front desk assured us that he'd call us as soon as our room was ready and make sure our luggage was taken up to our room. 45 minutes passed with no call and our luggage was still sitting at the front desk. When we went back up to the front desk, it turns out that the room had been ready, but he felt no sense of urgency to call us or make sure our luggage got up to our room. Not a luxury experience at all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
