Great Breakfest Nice Room

The breakfast was great. Get the blueberry pancakes if you like them. The rooms was nice and based on other review we must have gotten lucky. It was very clean and nothing we could complain about. We did go midweek with almost no crowds at all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not on top of things

It’s Friday. The weekend is a busier time here. We came in on Wednesday. We are watching all these families with young kids check in and rush to the pool and pool bar and grill. Also, other couples like us are checking in. It is only open from 11-5 Friday and Saturday. It was suppose to close at 5:00 pm. Last call was at 4:30 and it was shut down by 4:45. No towels available for guests and no pool service. Renee was great, but they need to keep her down here until 6 at least. I understand the need to cut back for Covid but there are at least 13 families and over 50 people with not one attendant in site. More people pouring in as I type this. Charging full rates with half the service and amenities. Very disappointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't book the 4th floor Woodland View!!

This is my 2nd weekend here and my first weekend, I booked the beach view (nice) but the floor had stains in them. The 2nd time, I booked the woodland view and I was traumatized. Me and my partner was sitting on the balcony around 9:00 p.m. listening to music having a drink. It is so dark on the Woodland side until you can't see ANYTHING once it's dark. Long story short, we had a candle on the patio and something told me to look up over my head and a possum was looking right over my head. Once me and my partner jumped up and headed for the room patio door, the possum took off towards us. Everything was instantly left on that patio trying to get to that patio door and we did not care, we were so terrified afterwards and ready to go at this point. What if I didn't look up? I have no idea how long it had been there sitting in the dark. They have no lights whatsoever for the guest to be able to see at night. Never again!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dirty Room and Poor Service

My husband, daughter, and I stayed at the Lodge 4th of July weekend. We knew some of the garden amenities would be unavailable due to Covid and were okay with that. While we were pleased to see everyone wearing masks indoors, we were very concerned with the lack of cleanliness of our room and extremely slow service service at check in and the restaurants. After driving 8.5 hours to get there and waiting over an hour to check in, we were very displeased to see stains and hairs all over the bed and chips, crumbs, and stains all over the floor. It definitely made me question if anything was actually disinfected in our room. I went down to alert the front desk and they said they would send housekeeping. Thirty minutes later and still stuck in a dirty room, I called back down to the front desk, and they said they alerted housekeeping but had no idea when she would get there. We decided to go for a walk around the property and grab some drinks by the pool. We returned 2 hours later to an untouched room. I went back down and spoke to the manager on duty again and she said housekeeping had cleaned the room. We assured her it had not been cleaned. The manager was very unapologetic, disappeared in the back room, and reappeared 10 minutes later with no news and started helping another guest while we were standing around waiting! A gentleman in IT (Thomas Allen) happened to be at the front desk to fix a computer, and he and another kind lady (Anna) working at the front desk overheard and said they would take care of cleaning the room themselves. They really stepped up and did a great job which we were thankful for! However, upon checking out we did not receive the promised discount for the inconvenience or the free breakfasts that were included in our package. The same manager we dealt with at check-in was consulted and confirmed we were to receive the discounts. Not a word was spoken to us or apology made for the dirty room or inconvenience. Besides Thomas Allen and Anna, we were very displeased with the service received. The overall condition and upkeep of the resort makes me question the high star rating of this resort. Great time

We have enjoyed our stay. The current pandemic has changed some things significantly, but the facility feel safe and staff are friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate. The pool is great. I wish there was more shade during the day or more umbrellas/chairs, but cleaning crews are out cleaning as people move. Check in was time consuming, but staff were being detailed and accommodating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
