Best Golf Resort In America

Jul 7th, 2019

Everything here is five star. Staff is very friendly and could not be more accommodating. The guests are so friendly and the kids are all so well behaved. This resort gives you a real sense of true southern hospitality. Try to get to the Bingo - so fun. Food is great in both restaurants. Pool and putting course are great additions. We can’t wait to return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful quaint personal feel

The Lodge is relatively small so provides a very personal top note experience from golf to pool to space to furnishings with friendly accommodating service. You can walk to the Seaside Course, 18 hole putting course, driving range, chipping area and practice putting green. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Fabulous Stay in August 2018 and a Monumental Brush Off Ten Months Later

May 28th, 2019

We stayed at the Lodge for three nights last August and have one of the best experiences we've ever had. The room had a large deck overlooking the water and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed two rounds of golf, dinner at The Georgian Room, lunch at the other venues, including the Lodge. It was perfection! We so enjoyed the visit, we were planning on a return visit this August, and to have friends join us. This week, my husband (who is a private pilot) planned a flight to St Simons, bringing our friends (prospective guests) to show them Sea Island. He called The Lodge (which is very close to the airport) to make a reservation for lunch and The Lodge refused. - the restaurant is only for hotel guests. He explained that we were former guests and wanted to show Sea Island to friends who are interested in coming with us this year. She told him they could check it out on the website - and still refused. At $5000+ last summer for a three night stay, this brush off was embarrassing and most unfriendly. They still flew up to St. Simons but no Lodge. Don't think we will be back their this summer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bagpipe

May 22nd, 2019

Friends and I had drinks approaching sunset at The Lodge. We sat outside where we could view players on the huge golf green. The drinks were wonderfully crafted and served by staff who absolutely wanted to please. Our bartender even helped us carry drinks and snacks outside to sit in comfy Adirondack chairs. What a pleasant evening, made more pleasant by the drinks and pimiento cheese scones and the music of a bagpipe, playing us into the sunset. Fabulous! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
