great location 2 min walk to gondola

Apr 23rd, 2019

This was a great resort in the main area by the gondola. I used the spa most days- used the sauna, steam room and whirlpool. it had a full spa menu and, while small, had everything u would need or want and never felt crowded. All staff were professional and courteous. also used the outdoor spa pool which was quite and relaxing. Breakfast was great but didn’t eat dinner there. Will go back again for sure! Excellent Sevice

Apr 22nd, 2019

We stayed with our kids and we really enjoyed the location. The apartment we had at the hotel was unit 404. If you like very soft beds then this three bedroom unit is for you (not me). Seems like the mattresses are old and need to be replaced especially in the two upstairs bedrooms which were not queen beds - even in the Master!! The downstairs bedroom had two twin beds. There were many things we had to call maintenance for but they were always at our door within minutes. Have never had such response time in a hotel. Even if we asked for a glass of milk it was there within minutes. The location to Gondola 1 was great but it is a short walk. The lobby is small but they serve a hot chocolate bar and hot apple cider and cookies every day at 3:00. Would suggest they keep it out a little longer for those coming off slopes later. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Parking a car is costly though. Kitchens in units are smaller than a traditional condo. But with room service we ended up not really using the kitchen. The fireplace was great and there was a supply of wood on the balcony. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Warm Welcoming Friendly Staff

Apr 2nd, 2019

How one is treated can make all the difference in any travel experience. The entire staff at The Lodge at Vail goes out of their way to treat all with a friendly smile and respect. this was my 2nd stay this season 4 months apart and I was greeted with a warm hug by a staff that remembered me. Ella is the best and so are all the others who made my stay wonderful. I travel alone and I always feel safe and welcome. plus of course the skiing and rooms were off the charts amazing. A Wonderful Trip Ruined

Mar 6th, 2019

While my husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Lodge at Vail because of the perks of an upscale ski resort, it ended on a terrible note. On Sunday, February 25th, we left all of our luggage at the front desk from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm while we were skiing. I had placed my jewelry bag inside my makeup bag, inside my backpack, and unfortunately, IT WAS STOLEN FROM MY BAG WHILE IT WAS BEING KEPT IN STORAGE. My wedding band and engagement ring were in there along with a couple of other valuable pieces. We have done thorough searches of our bags, and I am 100% confident that it was stolen during this time frame while in the possession of The Lodge. The security manager did take steps to do an investigation including reviewing camera footage, but there is no camera facing where the bags are held. Employees were interviewed during the week, but nothing was found. The investigation ended with The Lodge telling me that there was nothing they could do further outside of me filing a police report, which I did. As you can imagine, disappointed is an understatement. I am posting to warn future guests that because the person who took my jewelry has not been identified, I have to assume this employee is still working at The Lodge at Vail and has access to stored luggage and possibly rooms for cleaning. PLEASE BE AWARE. We will not be staying here again because the experience was entirely overshadowed by this. At such a highly rated hotel, I would expect that all of my belongings would be safe and secure and that this should not have been an issue. Jaclyn TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Faded

Mar 4th, 2019

This is my third annual visit. While the building is perfectly clean, it is dated and fading. The staff are wonderful and the location is very convenient. But The Lodge plays on its location and skimps on the decor. For example, the electric fixtures were once state of the art with USB ports. Not one of those USB ports was functional in my room. A minor annoyance. More grating was the ancient HVAC unit that whines loudly all the time. This has been an annual frustration in all three rooms I have stayed in. At some point they will need to upgrade the hotel systems. I like that they provide free purified water in the rooms. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
