The Lodge at Whitefish Montana

Jul 16th, 2019

Beautiful resort! Well maintained, friendly & helpful staff, great amenities! The pool was beautiful with a stunning view of a Whitefish Lake and the mountains! Outdoor activities within minutes of the resort (concierge very helpful in planning). We had a wonderful fishing guide right there at the Lodge marina. The kids loved catching fish and making s’mores every night! We will definitely go back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent choice for Glacier Park and environs vacation

Jul 13th, 2019

We stayed at Lodge in second floor Viking room from July 1 to July 5. Prefer second floor room at Viking because of easy access to main lodge. We had excellent accomodations, good food and good concierge service. Staff was friendly and accomodating. We would definitely return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No air conditioning? But great staff

Jul 12th, 2019

Ok, now i have your attention, but really, spent three nights in the newest luxury home they have, House 17. We were the first people to stay in this lovely home, designed and built by the owners of the Lodge themselves, however, clearly no one thought to do a walk through before they offered it to us at $1399 a night! We arrived and I immediately put on the air conditioning as it was really warm outside. Two thermostats, one upstairs one downstairs and neither worked. Also the hot water heater was never turned on. So began our saga of people coming in and out of the house trying to fix it. On the up side, staff from maintenance crew Nick and Dave were phenomenal. Hot water heater got turned on immediately. But they Came on two different days and still no air. They put fans and portable air conditioning in three rooms of the four bedroom house but still warm because the windows had to be open. The massive family room just couldnt get cold. Housekeeping neglected to empty coffee pots and put all the dishes in the dishwasher but never took them out so i dont know if clean or not. Disappointed we had to deal with this and even had the A/C guy come on the third day unannounced to finally fix it. As an aside, the house still had construction pieces and hardware in drawers and places around the house. The house had no games, the window coverings were somewhat transparent, (needed black out shades or something) no soap dish or stand by bathtub in master bedroom and over all very very minimalistic. I like minimalistic but not when it comes to my basic needs! The marina was great! Lots of activities and lots and lots of people. It is open to the public so it gets crowded with boats and lots of drinking. Watch your kids ok? Manager Rachel was very apologetic and kind. Reduced our bill by half. But reality is, who wanted to deal with that on a vacation? Restaurant was good. Meat came overcooked, they immediately took it back and brought another but after other diners had eaten. Charcuterie plate was also minimalistic. Could have used more meat less mustard and olives. Margarita flat bread, garlicy and oily so the crust wasnt flat but soggy. Steak Frites were excellent. Fish dish was very good. Fish tacos were very good. Had a really good massage and manicure in the spa. So all in all. Could have been a phenomenal stay had the housing situation been corrected from the beginning and if there werent so many non resort guests at the marina tiki bar and pool. I would just ask if they have any weddings when you want to come. July 4 weekend they had 4 or 5 and then another one after that weekend. Everyone loves a wedding but not the ones you arent invited to, lol. And oh yes, we never got a full run down of the amenities at the resort when we checked in. Could be that the homes, which they call cabins arent given the full low down. I dont know. Lastly, I am sure when the house gets completed properly it will be an incredible home. Just need to pay attention to the details. Thats what makes a good stay....great. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfectly appropriate “lodge” atmosphere

Jul 11th, 2019

A short drive from the regional airport. Did have to stop quickly for a large buck that decided to bolt across the road. The Lodge has everything you need for an adventure like atmosphere near Glacier National Park. There is a well equipped marina on the lake for all boating adventures for a pro or an amateur to enjoy the lake. The menus for the restaurant are simple and fresh. The service is quick and friendly. The rooms are all large and very comfy. I was very pleased at how fast they cleaned the room in the morning and even a nice turndown service. Rooms have well working free Wi-Fi, small fridge, and microwave. All very modern and comforting with great views of the surrounding mountains or the lake. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
