Two night getaway
Sep 17th, 2020
This was THE BEST stay we have ever had, anywhere to date. Every single person we encountered, anywhere on the grounds were genuinely warm, welcoming, friendly and so knowledgeable we were truly amazed how they really made our first time there such a fabulous experience. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, and abundant enough for my husband who eats a lot. All spa services we had performed by skilled technicians, the grounds were gorgeous... honestly the one negative... leaving. We will be back for certain. Lastly, all precautions taken regarding COVID made us feel safe and relaxed. I love this place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Top 5 in the world!

I travel a lot and enjoy two types of destination spas - athletic and relaxing. This was by far the most relaxing and rejuvenating spa destination (yes, it beats Lake Austin) and offered enough athletic options to be a choice for that... but I didn't do a single athletic class - there were simply too many other wonderful experiences to try. Let me break this down: SPA - top notch. great massages and pedicure (no facials due to Covid). I had two body scrubs and two massages and a pedicure - all four were excellent. The facilities were spacious, clean, with individual shower rooms fully stocked, beautiful sauna, pool, and steam room... lots of lockers, seating, tea, snacks, fully staffed. They were on top of cleanliness and had working covid management policies that somehow didn't distract at all from my experience. FOOD - gourmet and all included in the price. You will gain 5 pounds happily if you want to :) They source many of their veges from the on property working farm, and you can tell its that fresh. I tried a number of new things, but they also had fresh spins on the classics, like grilled trout, pork chops (wow! one of the best chops I have ever had), new york strip, and the humble tuna fish sandwich. Try the grilled radish appetizer and the tuna tar tar appetizer. TO DIE FOR. Desserts? really good and sized appropriately. You do have to purchase wine or other drinks... wines were limited, but top selections from their on site wine expert (take her wine tasting class - highly recommended). dinner has live music. plan on an hour for each meal and longer for dinner if you want to linger over coffees - although breakfast and lunch were more along the lines of 45 minutes (depending on your order). You can also purchase special lattes, but coffee, capps, regular lattes etc all were part of the package. If you love bread, you will love dinner here that much more... gouda rolls, rosemary french bread... and on and on. Five pounds? maybe 10 :) ACTIVITIES - several on site hiking trails ranging from 1/2 mile to 4 miles (the 3 mile loop done as a figure 8). Hatchet throwing, archery, primitive fire making, garden tours and education, honey bee classes, kayaking, mountain biking, bird watching, and herbs / weeds you can eat are just some of the activities I tried. They have a number of different yoga classes which others raved about, but I preferred to try some of the more unique offerings. full and roomy gym, options for personal training, spot muscle conditioning, etc. I also tried some of the more spiritual classes they offered - chakras (really relaxing), meditation and pendulums. I didn't sign up for the painting or other art courses due to limited luggage space, but wish I had - I watched a few and they were really great. always a way to roast a smore on a fire and plenty of hammocks and quiet nooks to sit and just bathe in the forest. Deer were everywhere, wild turkeys, good fishing, and lots of small critters. ROOM - I had room 103, which I recommend. you can sit on the balcony and listen to the live music on the back patio on thursday - sunday nights but still have complete privacy from those sitting outside on the actual patio... and if you close the door, you can't hear any noise from outside. so nice. Rooms had dual sinks, lots of amenities, plenty of room. In room safe, shower with two heads (one a rain head). immediate response on any request for towels or razors, etc. Comfy king size bed, rocking chair and lounge chair, plenty of tv channels (although I didn't watch any tv for 5 of my 6 days there!!) Screened windows so you can have fresh air without the bugs. What really made this the top of all other spa experiences was the staff. It was obvious that the staff is treated like family, and so they treated each and every guest that way. they all wore their masks, they all followed covid protocols, they were very diligent, but without interfering in how they worked with the guests. i didn't meet any staff member who wasn't sincerely nice and happy. just blew me away, even when they had to deal with some guests who were, shall we say, picky? spoiled? never once did I witness a staff member do anything but help and smile and lift the spirits of whomever they were dealing with. Hats off to the owners, and this team!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The best getaway I have ever experienced.

I have to say the pics the Lodge has on their website are beautiful, however they do not show what the resort and the property really looks like. I was extremely impressed!!! So incredibly serene. As soon as we arrived at the gate the guard said " I heard it was your anniversary". I love that personal touch! We drove to the entrance. The front door man greeted us with a Happy Anniversary and offered to bring out a cart for our luggage. They do not offer valet parking at this time due to COVID guidelines but that was totally ok as the parking lot is not far away at all. They brought our bags in. We went to the front desk and they acknowledged out anniversary too! So wonderful! We were able to check in right away. They gave us a tour before we went to our room. The Spa is AMAZING, however we were impressed as soon as we arrived. I inquired about upgrading to a larger room upon checked in, however they were already booked. When we opened the door to our room we were blown away with how big the "standard" size room was. Every room has a veranda with French doors. Our view was directly in front of the waterfall which sat on beautiful landscape. The deer are right outside your veranda! The view was absolutely peaceful. We walked to the lake to kill time before our dinner reservation. The grounds in the back of the Lodge were so wonderful. The lake was beautiful, You can fish, kayak, paddle board, or just sit on comfy chairs and enjoy the scenery. My finance and I went on bike rides, walked on all of the trails and visited their farm, and archery . There are hammocks in several areas of they property and the deer walk by you as if you are one of them. We really enjoyed that! The Spa was TOP NOTCH. I had a Blues Be Gone massage by Mariah (I highly recommend her). It honestly was the best massage I have ever recieved. The amenities and accommodations are never ending and everything was so clean! I own a business and I always look for cleanliness and eye for detail thought. They have met all my expectations when it comes to a level of cleanliness and customer service. Also all the employees we encountered were wonderful as well. I happen to live in a town that is very well known and many people come to visit. They have wonderful restaurants, however I have to admit the food at Woodloch is the BEST I have ever eaten. So flavorful yet healthy and clean. The presentation was lovely. The portions are perfect! Try to have a meal delivered to your room and eat on your veranda at least once. It is so worth it! I have a career that is high demand and by appointments only and very stressful at times so I needed a resort I didn't have to worry about being somewhere at a certain time(except for meals time :), However Woodloch classes are designed to promote health and wellness such as art, meditation, yoga, exercise, cooking class. Whatever your definition is of health and wellness, I am positive you will find it at this resort. Coming from a woman in a high demand beat the clock kind of career I didn't mind that I had make in advance appts and make it there on time. as the outcome is priceless. I also set aside 2 days with no classes so I can enjoy all outdoor activities or just to lay in a hammock with NO schedule. Lastly, this resort (and all the other Woodloch resorts/golf course) are owned by one family. The owner came up to us during our dinner to ask how we are doing. That was one of the most special moments as you know there is still love and care at that resort. Many times when a company is owned by a corporation, the care level is minimized. You can tell how much care and love is invested into this resort. We plan to go back in Oct. We went for 4 days the first time. In my opinion it still wasn't enough time, as there are so many fabulous classes and I wanted to take most of them! I actually could go on and on about the Lodge, that is how much we loved it. We also found out this resort is one of the best luxury spa destinations in the World!! In my opinion If you are looking for a resort to help your health and well being I highly recommend the Lodge at Woodloch. Absorb all the wonderful outdoor scenery this resort has to offer, as nature helps reduce anger, fear, and stress. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Beautiful Relaxing Getaway

We have stayed at many resort/spa places and this place is definitely exceptional. The staff is friendly, polite, helpful. With Covid precautions in place we felt the staff here could not have done anything better. There were hand washing stations set up, hand sanitizer everywhere, the staff always had masks on, the restrooms, our room were immaculate, staff were constantly wiping things down. The spa was beautiful. Activities were abundant. Take advantage of the variety of activities here as well as the beautiful spa. Lastly the food was delicious! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A true escape

This is a wonderful rejuvenating experience. There is a great variety of activities. I felt like I was at a very upscale summer camp. The food is excellent as is the spa and fitness activities. The pool, while indoors was airy and exceptionally clean. I especially enjoyed that there were many different places to go and read quietly - hammock, living rooms, patio off my room. I would definitely return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
