Excellent Hotel With Large Rooms And Great Location

Jun 18th, 2019

We spent five days here and were bowled over by the size of the rooms for midtown New York which usually are very small. We had a ‘King Suite’ which was basically a large room with a small kitchen, this was exactly as we had requested and was perfect for our needs. Each room is owned by a different person in this 1920s building built by William Randolph Hearst and so each has its own decor. My wife didn’t like the green or the Japanese approach to those of our room owner but frankly this was a minor detail. Breakfast is a bit peculiar in an American Diner (American Cut) next door which is not actually part of the hotel and the range is quite small. Addition of fresh fruit and a bit more organisation by the staff would be helpful but breakfast is thrown in for free and so we shouldn’t complain too much! The location by Lex and 56th is perfect for all local synagogues - 5 mins to Central and 20 mins to Park East. Highly recommended! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location but tired hotel

Jun 16th, 2019

I lived in NYC and had to return for business. I chose the Lombardy because of its location. I was given a room that looked worse than my old dormitory room! It was dark and depressing. I asked for a different room and was given one “slightly “ better but you would think I was asking for the world. Only one elevator worked and for the week I was there, it was painful. Long waits or overcrowded elevator and had to wait another 5 minutes. Also, what is the point of having a coffee machine in your room-when no coffee is supplied! Being a member of the I Prefer Hotel Awards, I would have expected a nice room or an upgrade after complaining. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel, great location

Enjoyed hotel and location. Bathroom could use some updating but room was clean, bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and well-serviced. However the American rock and roll soundtrack was a little loud and jarring first thing in the morning. Would advise hotel to turn down volume or go with something lighter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The best stay in NYC

Jun 9th, 2019

We stayed at The Lombardy Hotel last week and it was the best stay so far in NYC. We were greeted by the most courteous staff at the reception specially Abeer Soliman. She was very welcoming and polite. We were given 1/2 an hour early check-in and they also upgraded our room. We stayed in 1 bedroom suite with 2 bath. The apartment was very spacious (approx 850 sq ft) with modern furniture and fully equipped kitchen. The interior was very tastefully done with beautiful frames and art decor. Very clean and updated amenities. Breakfast was included and also were very willingly allowed us to take it to our apartment. Location is fantastic. I recommend this hotel for stay in NYC. Super Experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great comfortable sleeps and breakfasts

Overall a good experience. Hotel was a little out of the main tourist hot spots and depending on what activities one chooses there is a need to access some form of transport. Accommodation in New York is always expensive and The Lombardy was quite good value and provided larger rooms than other hotel options for equivalent cost. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
