Superb location in Malibu

Nov 21st, 2019

This was our second stay in The M, and once again we were more than happy. The room was beautiful and spacious, free parking and very helpful staff, especially Sal. Definitely will stay here again when back in Malibu. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Freshly updated, convenient

Oct 10th, 2019

Very freshly updated, simple décor, comfy bed, nice amenities (shampoo, body wash, etc.) Appreciated the mini fridge and convenient location central to Malibu. View was partially obstructed, but overall enjoyed our stay in nice, clean facility. No "lobby" and very tiny check-in area, but it works. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Construction Noise

May 1st, 2019

I’m staying here for 8 days on biz and have had to listen to the room construction for several days already. I get that they want to renovate but perhaps upon booking it should’ve been mentioned. It’s extremely loud each day from 9-5pm and hindering my work/overall stay experience. Also should be noted that this is a motel, not a hotel.. which is reflected in the noise level (thin walls) and cleanliness. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very basic but ok given price and location

Mar 20th, 2019

Ok.. so this is a. Wry basic motel immediately on the Pacific highway in Malibu.. I think when assessing it you have to look at the price compared to other places in Malibu.. this is really cheap and its really central in Malibu.. so given those things you're not going to get luxury and let's be clear you don't.! We had room 101right next to reception. So there's a door straight from theparki g area leading straight into the room. The floor is filed.. no carpet here.. there's a desk, a tv a bed air conditioning, ear plugs fridge tea and.coffe make g facilities most seemed to work.. tv remote.a bit dodgy Couldnt really make coffee machine.work.. all clean but basic and Spartan.. Ensuite with shower toilet and sink again everything clean and works but no sense of luxury.. Internet.. the Wi-Fi passwords have a spelling mistake.. i think the first letter of the first password should be a capital letter, making this change let it work So overall its fine.. go there by all means just bear in mind its pretty basic .. but given the location and price i think thats reasonable? Basic Motel

Mar 4th, 2019

First time in a Motel. Being in Malibu, choices are limited. It is OK for a 1 night stay as I was there for work. Room. Basic but comfortable bed. Hard plastic chair and a table. The heating system worked well and came handy as it was the coldest day in Malibu....it snowed earlier in the day; small frig, open closet, tv. Patio opened up to a partial ocean view. Easy access to the parking lot. Service. I would say service was satisfactory. I had issues with the WIFI as the room I got 1st was at the very end. I requested to be moved and the front desk lady happily obliged. When I checked out it was before 0900, front desk was closed. Key drop off outside the office. Although I did not get a receipt emailed until I called for it the following day. Front Desk. Not open/manned 24 hours. I believe it secures sometime at night and doesn't open up until 0900 am. Even during the day hours, an 'out of office' sign hanged a few times when I stopped by. Plus: a couple of chocolates pieces were a great welcome treat. Location. - The good is that it is right on Highway 1. Cross the street and you are at the Pacific Ocean. Although there is no direct beach access across the street, I did find a public access alley to the ocean about 5 minute walk. - Walking north about 3 minutes is Mcdonalds. Across the street is high end Nobu. - The bad is street noise coming from Highway 1. The walls are very thin. I can hear conversations next door clearly. Earplugs are provided as sleeping aids. Will I return? If being close to the ocean is the goal, maybe. It is still very pricey for a Motel. About 10 miles on Highway 101 are plenty of regular hotels to choose from, better amenities, cheaper, and most likely will include breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
