Chic hotel with many on-site amenities
Room rates are pricey
According to recent visitors, this fashionable boutique hotel is, as its name suggests, right on the mark. Located on the Upper East Side, one block from Central Park and Fifth Avenue, this European-style retreat places visitors in an enviable location, with easy access to iconic city landmarks and shopping streets. The decor is reminiscent of 1930s Paris, with a calming beige color palette and marble trimmings. But keep in mind, there are modern accouterments here, too, such as HD televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi and a panel that controls lighting, temperature and the room shades. The elegance extends to the stylish Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges, which boasts delectable French fare. In addition to the impeccable cuisine, the gracious staff also earns a nod of approval from recent guests. Most travelers agree: If you're looking for a charming Manhattan oasis, this first-rate hotel is well worth the splurge.

The hotel's on-site restaurant and bar from famed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is the perfect spot for celebs to unwind with a drink like a cool cucumber martini or a lychee raspberry Bellini.

The rooms themselves are spacious, comfortable and expertly filled with sharp design picks from legendary Jacques Granges. Though the rooms’ colors scheme is easy on the eyes in light taupes and greys, the Deco-inspired furniture pieces add just the edge needed to amp up their sightlines. Feathery bedding, plush slippers, sumptuous robes: sleeping here is serious business.

Hotel-branded bikes? Been there, done that. But on New York City’s Upper East Side, The Mark Hotel is putting a new twist on the now-classic amenity. ... the hotel’s black-and-white striped pedicabs will be whisking guests to nearby attractions — Central Park, Bergforf Goodman, or the Guggenheim Museum — on a complimentary basis.
