Like a movie set of a nice hotel

Aug 4th, 2019

I do not recommend the hotel. While the location is good and it's very quiet, the hotel feels neglected somehow. It's like a movie set of a nice hotel. As other reviewers have said, good luck finding someone on site to help you. The desks in the lobby were empty all 7 days and nights of my trip. If you need something, you have to knock on a closed office door and the people who answered the door appeared startled each time. I agree with the other reviewers that I felt I was disturbing them. It was awkward. There was a leak in my room's ceiling, directly above the desk where I'd set up my laptop. The water was coming in so quickly that the drips actually woke me up at 3am, and I was able to move my computer before it got damaged. It did get very wet but it's working fine. I put towels all over the floor and desk to absorb the water and told the guy in the office about it the next morning. He was totally bored and said he'd let maintenence know. I told him my computer got wet, and he showed me a different room (a much smaller, darker option). I declined the downgraded room. They didn't apologize, offer any discount, or show any interest. When I checked out this morning I couldn't find anyone, so I just left my key on the empty desk in the lobby. As I was walking away, someone came out of the office and said they would email my folio. Gee thanks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

7 night visit

Jul 31st, 2019

We just checked out of the Marquesa after a week long stay. What a hidden gem! We stayed with our twin daughters (14 years old). It was perfect. We initially had booked a large beach resort on the southern part of the island, only to discover that the pungent smell from the seaweed made the hotel room uninhabitable/unacceptable and the private beach unusable. What a relief that when we got to the Marquesa there was absolutely no smell at all. The hotel is quietly tucked away amongst lush gardens and beautiful landscape, but yet only a block from Duval and the bustle of the center of the island. You get the best of both worlds. Mallory square is a quick stroll. The rooms were tastefully appointed, impeccable and spacious. The Morning tea/coffee was enjoyed, as we had our own patio with comfortable rocking chairs and a small table with chairs. The hotel staff was wonderful and so very kind. I highly recommend this hotel. I did NOT notice the seaweed odor anywhere else on the island other than by the southern point. We did many ocean excursions (snorkeling, jet skis, parasailing) and none of them were impacted in any way by the seaweed issue. The Marquesa truly made our first visit to Key West very special. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you Marquesa team!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Birthday weekend

Jul 28th, 2019

We come to Key West several times a year and have stayed at several different properties if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and be out of the hustle and bustle of Duval street, I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. Very clean and very “homie”. The staff was awesome and always ready to help out if you needed something. I can’t think of anything bad to say about the place TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Girls' Weekend in Key West at the Marquesa Hotel

Jul 23rd, 2019

Eight of us got together in Key West for a 3-day weekend at the end of June 2019. We stayed at The Marquesa Hotel and I could not recommend it more! The hotel is magical! The staff makes you feel welcome from the onset and it just gets better and better. The rooms are so spacious, clean, comfortable, and exquisitely designed and furnished. The beds are uber comfortable. Each morning we got up and sat on our porch-we had coffee and breakfast together and just enjoyed ourselves so much. The pool areas are secluded and lovely. Fresh coffee and water are near the pool. Also, a perfect location- close walking distance to everywhere you want to go but just far enough away to be very private. We absolutely loved it! Great 2-Night Stay at the Marquesa

Jul 16th, 2019

We had a really nice 2-night stay in the Bahama Suite. The Marquesa.is a beautiful property located on a quiet street just a block from the fun of Duval Street. Beginning with our very warm welcome during check-in (Thank you, Alex!), everything about our stay was top notch. Our rom was spacious, with a comfortable king bed, AC and ceiling fans, a beautiful, well-equipped bathroom with a shower and a separate bathtub, and a private veranda. Wi-fi connection was solid throught our stay. When we had a small problem with drainage in the shower, it was fixed by the time we got back to the room after having lunch. The services and attention to deal are second to none. I would definitely stay at the Marquesa again when I return to Key West and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be near the hustle and bustle of Duval Street while being able to enjoy a quiet night's rest. Really a great choice for any kind of traveler. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
