Beautiful Hotel

Jan 9th, 2021

The Mayo Hotel is a historic building in the city we actually live in. We have been here multiple times for attending different events, but we’re thankful to be given the opportunity recently for not one, but two couple staycations this month. PROS: Cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is beautiful, history and charm of the entire facility is fascinating, restaurant may be closed to due Covid, but rooftop bar and the Market still elevate the food and beverage experience, the large suite rooms are amazing, location is nice being downtown, valet and the rest of the staff are great, and so on and so on. More Specific Pros: we love Josh in The Market, we love the chocolate treats and robes found in the rooms, the suites with no windows in bedroom are the best because they get PITCH BLACK, and lastly, we love anytime we get to meet a resident living at The Mayo. CONS, but not really: I call this a celebration Hotel. A lot of parties staying in large groups and they may have late nights...celebrating. This does not hold us back from wanting to stay here again, just request if you want more quietness to be put in a room away from wedding/celebration groups if at all possible. Both stays this month had small issues with this, but the staff will handle for you if it gets out of hand. Note specifically about staying during COVID: this hotel is kept extremely clean in our opinion. Also, other than the elevators, we have never felt crowded amongst other guests. All staff are masked up. The only spot to be more careful would be if the rooftop bar gets busy inside, just make sure you have a mask on and then you can go distance outside if desired once you have your drink. We would and WILL stay here again. Thanks to The Mayo for always helping us relax and feel taken care of. If you book this hotel and any issues arise, just get with the Manager on duty, they will do everything they can to make sure your stay is the best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor service

Oct 23rd, 2020

This is a beautiful hotel with so much history that you can just feel it the minute you walk in. Beautiful lobby, beautiful room and spacious bathroom. Unfortunately the service here is terrible. Our kitchen was literally bare. Nothing in it. They said it was because of Covid which I understand but at least have plastic kitchen cups, plates and silverware for your guests when they arrive. No valet to greet you. My husband had to leave his car in the pull in and let the front desk know it was there. Getting towels was a hassle and since we are here for three days we needed to replenish the plastic throw away kitchen stuff. Getting them took forever but our housekeeper was so sweet. No one answers the phone so we have to go down to the lobby to ask for anything. We also tried room service and couldn’t get anyone to answer so we went out instead. The coffee shop is the only restaurant open. Very few breakfast options. It was disappointing but we tried to make the best of it and enjoy time with our family. I wouldn’t stay here again. Ask for the celebrity suite!

Sep 19th, 2020

The celebrity suite at this hotel is amazing. It's as big as a one-bedroom condo, the furniture in the room is extraordinary, the bathroom is amazing for a hotel bathroom with a dual person shower and a jacuzzi tub. this is definitely the room you want for special occasions. The best thing is in the hallway of the 9th floor they have a bunch of pictures hanging up of all the famous celebrities that have stayed at the hotel over the years. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Safe place to stay while traveling during COVID

Jul 29th, 2020

I needed to travel recently and stayed here for one night. I felt very safe the entire time and the room was very comfortable. The hotel was very clean and all staff wore masks during our interactions. The bed was very comfortable as well and the room service was very good and affordable. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you need to travel during the pandemic. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Premier wedding venue

Jun 22nd, 2020

We recently had our daughters rehearsal dinner and wedding reception in the Penthouse bar and Crystal Ballroom at the Mayo. It was an amazing event. The Mayo hotel management and staff went out of their way to make sure these went off without a hitch. The recent Tulsa rally and Covid issues made it even more challenging with the increased crowds and street closures, but they were prepared with their security measures and Covid safety policy. In addition to the reception in their beautiful Ballroom, we had many out of town guests that also stayed at the hotel. The rooms are more like extended stay suites with mini kitchens and all the guests were impressed with the staff attentiveness, room appointments and value. Several of our guests decided to stay on at the hotel after the wedding just for additional R&R. The pictures on their website are as we experienced . We plan to stay again at the Mayo just for occasional weekend getaways. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
