Love IT!

Feb 26th, 2020

Everything I was hoping for and more. I contacted the hotel before my visit since we are celebrating my daughters 21st birthday. Joyce Farrel assisted me with my request. She is simply amazing, super friendly and professional. Truly went above and beyond my arrival...when I was a WOW! My daughter had the surprise waiting for her. The room is spectacular with a nice view although we have a standard for four. Super clean and enjoying every minute of our stay. The property is beautiful. Thank you sooooo much making our stay so special. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Crushin it

Feb 23rd, 2020

Jeffrey and Martha were very attentive, from the bowling alley to the bar. We were a larger group and they were quick to accommodate us, would continue to hit up this spot. Highly recommend if you’re in the area TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First visit to Napa was a bust

Feb 22nd, 2020

Unfortunately we stayed a week and the only good thing I have to say about the resort is the housekeeping staff was great and the waitress we had at crush was fantastic. The room service menu has a handful of items and the food was not good. My husband ordered a medium well burger and it was raw. Over medium eggs were like hard boiled eggs fried. They do not have premium movies or the ability to use your own Netflix account and offer a library of 20 dvd's. The front desk rarely answers the phone and for the price they charge I think they should offer more than 2 bottles of water in the in room mini bar. No microwave or sink in the kitchenette. The bed was like sleeping on rocks. We actually tried to change hotels after the first night but couldn't find any available rooms. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

2.5-Star Hotel Experience Masquerading As A 4-Star Luxury Resort

Feb 19th, 2020

I hesitate to write a review (in fact I never write reviews) because people will still be flocking to the Meritage Resort and Spa because on the outside it is a beautiful property and well located for a Napa visit. A friend summed it up ... this is maybe a 2.5 star hotel but definitely not a 4 star. On the inside this is not truly a luxury resort experience because that requires being detailed experience oriented. The hotel team members aren't detailed - and in the case of several instances - fairly rude when trying to get assistance. Lack of Toiletries So get to hotel room around 10 pm - and go to wash your hands ... but no soap. We searched the entire bathroom area and was totally surprised but thought OK - just call housekeeping. Over the next 30 minutes - multiple times called housekeeping, front desk, operator, concierge desk ... and even tried calling the hotel outside phone number from a cell phone but no one answered. Spouse suggested calling room service because room service in a nice hotel always answers - and yes at least they answered and they transferred call to front desk but it just rang and rang. We gave up ... and just went to bed. (after cleaning the next day - there was soap) Shower Lack of Hot Water, Temp Controls Don't Regulate Water very well, and Water Pressure is Terrible Shower was one of the most challenging things to understand why in a luxury resort the temp controls are extremely difficult to figure out and it was like only a large trickle of water every day. We stay in hotels all over the world so figuring out new shower controls aren't strange to us - just put a simple design in that works in regulating the temperature. Lack of Drink and Food Choices after 11 pm Next night 11 pm (weekend day) ... was hungry when got back to hotel. But lobby bar already closed although plenty of staff were sitting around talking assume they call it closing the bar. Looked up on hotel website the Room Service Late Night Menu (from 11 pm - 6 am) saw they had a few sandwiches available. Called Room Service ... no answer. Walked over to front desk - asked for assistance with getting something from Room Service Late night menu - had to show her my phone to know what I was talking about. She steps away to the back ... comes back a few minutes later - they don't have anything. Remembered that Crush an on-property sports bar was likely open - walked over and after waiting about 5 minutes for the bartender to turn around from the cash register (although I said "excuse me" to ensure she knew I was there). I said that I wanted to order something off the bar menu I was looking at. "Kitchen's closed" was the reply and in a fairly rude tone. Do you have anything chips, nuts, etc available? No! It's astonishing to me that the team member training towards guests is so poor in a luxury property or maybe it just a lack of people resources in the area ... they sure aren't using the Ritz guest training program! Poor service in aging facility

Feb 19th, 2020

Pool area was small with no real scenery. Also, the location of this hotel is close to downtown Napa but a good 45 minute drive away from the vineyards beyond Yountsville. Housekeeping had a poor schedule - they only came at 6pm on normal days but will come by at 9am on the day of check out! Obvious attempt to hurry us out of the room. Terrible bath products - shower gels and shampoos are dispensed in a common dispensary and they were never filled up by housekeeping. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
