Hospitable staff and delectable cuisine
Some say the accommodations appear worn

This boutique hotel in northern Nevis offers commanding views of the Caribbean Sea. You can enjoy the scenery from your private balcony or patio; each of the Mount Nevis Hotel's tropical-themed rooms, suites and villas also features a minifridge or kitchen, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, free Wi-Fi access and a coffee maker. Though some guests say the rooms are a bit dated, many praise the hotel's friendly staff, adding that everyone – from the concierge to the gardener – greets visitors with a smile. Lodgers also applaud the property's cozy restaurant, which prepares tasty island-inspired dishes made with ingredients picked from the on-site vegetable garden. Other perks of this former 19th-century lime plantation include its outdoor pool and the nearby beach. The Mount Nevis Hotel sits tucked amid verdant green hills in New Castle, less than 2 miles south of Vance W. Amory International Airport.

Critic Reviews

Views of the mountains, ocean and tropical vegetation create a tranquil environment. Villas, single and adjoining units are offered.

The personable, attentive Meguid family blends the intimacy of the plantation inns, contemporary amenities of the Four Seasons, and typical Nevisian warmth in this hilltop aerie. The former lime plantation (the wild trees' scent wafts on the breeze) affords sterling views from most rooms.
