The Nolitan features a quieter atmosphere compared to other New York City properties. Rooms are simply decorated, with white walls, oak flooring and sleek furnishings (and the occasional pop of color from a cherry-red throw blanket or a navy blue chair). The floor-to-ceiling windows do the double-duty of offering great views of Nolita (North of Little Italy) neighborhood and ushering in plenty of natural light. However, some recent travelers warn shy visitors of the open layout bathrooms; there's no door separating the shower and bath from the rest of the room, but at least the toilet has its own water closet. Previous guests note that sitting down for the complimentary wine and cheese happy hour on weekdays is a good choice. You'll find Nolitan on the corner of Kenmare and Elizabeth Streets.

Guest rooms have exposed, distressed-cement ceilings and walls and minimalist modern decor; north-facing rooms have unobstructed views of the Empire State Building (ask for a room with a terrace during warm months).

The Nolitan is a boutique with tiny, simple, and charming rooms that are very appropriate for its neighborhood.

The New York Times

The hotel cultivates a “feel like a local” charm, and its location, at Kenmare and Elizabeth Streets in NoLIta — on a residential block but within easy walking distance of SoHo, the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Little Italy and the East Village — helps greatly in this regard.

New York Magazine

Once in the cozy lobby, you'll find relaxed, on-point staffers who get to wear their own clothes, plus a library of Phaidon books and a sunken seating area where you can enjoy happy hour, light bites and free Wi-Fi.

Travel + Leisure

The floor-to-ceiling windows of the Cityscape Corner Rooms provide sweeping views of the Midtown skyline and Williamsburg Bridge.
