Very nice hotel but...

Rooms are unique with beautiful brick walls & wood floors. However, floors creak a lot & walls are paper thin. Did not sleep well due to noise from adjacent rooms & hallway. Staff (bar & lobby) unfriendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful boutique hotel

We had a wonderful stay at the Old 77. It’s in a great location and centrally located. Everything is about a half mile to mile walk from the hotel. Otherwise Lyft and taxis get you everywhere else. The staff were very friendly. The overall ambiance and decor was great....old school, but modern at the same time. Loved our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Meh - not in my top hotels to stay at again

Jun 21st, 2019

At first glance we liked the look of the hotel, a blend of old and new. The front desk staff were super great and friendly. Although it was super strange how they kept telling the guy checking in next to me he got a free upgrade and we weren't able to ask for a different style room. In the elevator it was a little dodgy, took a minute for the doors to open, not a huge nuisance. The door to our room (227) was reallllly hard to get open even after it unlocked like it was stuck. We enjoyed the exposed brick in the room, but there could be some extra renovations done. The window sills I'm assuming are original, looked absolutely horrible, as tho no one had attempted to clean or dust in 100+ years. The beds were okay, not the worst, not the best. We were extremely unhappy with the bathroom and mirror situations. There weren't a lot of plugs in the room which makes getting ready hard. The shower was stained, we couldn't tell if it was dirty (called up for a housekeeper to come clean, none ever arrived) or if it was a shoddy renovation job. The towels are super cheap and crappy, a normal adult will probably use two for their body. Overall it wasn't worth it for us. The one positive was how easily accessible it was for walking, about 12 minutes to the French Quarter. We had a really bad experience with the baristas at the coffee shop. We tried to ask a few questions about the coffee (btw a cortado made with normal coffee beans, is not a cortado) and were met with less than happy answers, and not even any eye contact. Plus the coffee was overpriced and crap. We won't be back, super disappointed because we had high hopes. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

last minute check in...did not have a reservation. The staff was welcoming and assisted me in getting a room .. Very helpful in assuring me I had come to the right hotel .. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of a room with a king size bed. The décor and arrangement of the room was awesome.. Brick walls , wood floors , big tv ..fresh and clean. loved it.. New Orleans Overnight

Jun 17th, 2019

The room was quaint, but the overhead light would turn on by itself every so often. The walking distance to the trolley and the quarter is great, but there are many other hotels that aren't quite as expensive that offer much better amenities. Not staying here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
