Nickel and dimed and underwhelmed

Oct 16th, 2019

I booked a stay for my wife and I so that we could enjoy a nice romantic long weekend. I paid extra to upgrade to the mountain view king room. We arrived and were informed that we had to pay $15/day to park our car there. I could see if it were in the city but it's not. Just the first way the nickel and dime you. I went to check-in and was amazed. The lobby is beautiful. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Hospitality is top-notch. I checked-in and was told there was a mandatory fee of $25/day for using the internet(is this 2005?) and getting a news paper. The internet was spotty and barely worked in our room, so chalk that up to another way for them to milk you for more money. We got to our "mountain view" room and it was on the bottom floor with a big tree in front of it. The room was on the concrete slab and smelled like mold and mildew. They must have a moisture problem on the bottom floors. The room it self was mediocre. Nothing you wouldn't get for half the price at another hotel. The walls are thin. We had one neighbor we could hear snoring and another whose TV we could hear all night. The restaurants are good though. The prices are on par with what you would pay for a similar restaurant in Asheville and the hotel is beauiful at night. Some other stuff to be aware of: the outdoor pool requires an $89/day fee. The indoor pool is just an olympic pool like the ones at YMCA. It's pretty chilly. You can use that for free though! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Luxury at its Best

Oct 16th, 2019

Need to feel pampered? This place is top of the line. The Spa is to die for. The service of the staff is outstanding. Everything is at a cost, of course, but Luxury is an understatement. Beautiful Scenery. Treat yourself. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My happy place

Oct 14th, 2019

Excellent stay and very friendly staff. Beds in the old section are not good, they are hard and uneven. Valet parking is the only way to go! The Pinano bar is a great place to hang out. You will love sitting by the fireplace. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful resort in a gorgeous setting.

Oct 14th, 2019

This is a beautiful resort in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The view of the mountains from the back deck is stunning and is particularly spectacular at sunset. It is quite expensive however, and may not be in most people’s budget, but worth a visit even if not to stay there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
