This damsel in distress on an unplanned overnight stay was pampered by the staff at the Palazzo!

Jun 18th, 2019

I purchased a car in Vegas, and flew in from LA to pick it up and drive it home. No plans for any visits...just a quick drive-through. When I arrived, the car wasn't ready. The dealer put me up in a hotel, and while they wanted me to stay elsewhere, I argued (and won) for the Palazzo, as I have stayed here many times before and I love it. The awesome man at the check-in heard my plight--no plans, no luggage, no essentials...he went in back and loaded a bag up with the necessities he had. He then told me where I could get the rest, and was SO gracious as to upgrade my room to the 442nd floor with a view of the strip. It was LOVELY. I was able to get the items I needed from the various shops between the Palazzo and the Venetian. SushiSamba is my favorite place to eat (but save your pennies--they are pricey) and I was able to get a seat at the sushi bar, where my server took good care of me. All in all, this experience--while not ideal--was as good as it could possibly be, because the check-in clerk took the time to understand and go out of his way to help me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't roll the dice with Palazzo

Jun 18th, 2019

I typically stay next door at Wynn when in Vegas, and have always had an excellent experience. I noticed that Palazzo was also an Amex FHR property so I cancelled my reservation at Wynn, and decided to roll the dice with Palazzo instead, especially since I just picked up IHG Ambassador for a guaranteed room upgrade instead of using FHR (first mistake). I read a few reviews and felt confident that this would be a great place to arrive on my Wife's Birthday following a long tour of several National Parks outside of town. I should have cancelled immediately after booking, as things started going sideways right away. I reserved on-line, and the page with the reservation wouldn't completely load on IHG.com, so I had to call just to make sure everything was okay. After ten minutes or so on the phone, the agent suggested that they must be having "computer issues" since they couldn't pull it up either and to call back tomorrow. The next evening I called again, and spend almost 40 minutes on the line while the agent contacted the hotel directly because they still couldn't access the reservation, however they gave me a confirmation number from the hotel and assured me that everything was fine and reserved as expected. I took down the notes on went on my trip. Upon check-in, I was immediately asked for ID and credit card, and then told that I was already checked in! After waiting around for 20 minutes, they confirmed that they had given my room to someone else with a "similar name" and that this never happens. How is this possible when everyone HAS TO SHOW AN ID AND CREDIT CARD???! I gave them my IHG case number and confirmation number and eventually they seemed to figure it all out (or so I thought). Finally, I head to my room and immediately realize that it's not what I booked, and certainly not an upgrade. I called the front desk, and they told me that I had booked a standard room, and that I was in my upgrade - at which point I had to have them double check the reservation to confirm that I had in fact reserved a "view suite" so they told me that I would have to call back tomorrow after 11 so they had a room available. I explained that this was really an issue, especially considering the birthday, and asked them to comp the first night - they flatly refused and said they would comp one night's resort fee ($45) and offer a "two tier" upgrade, to which I said fine, not feeling like wasting any more time on the phone. The next day I called and was given a new room, which was basically identical but just larger \ wider all the way down on the 19th floor; not really an upgrade at all in my opinion. During that call they told me they would take off another day of resort fess (big deal). Upon check-out I realized they didn't remove all the resort fees as promised so I called again and asked that they do something else for the inconvenience and a rather rude woman told me that she could not do anything, not even remove another night's resort fees because it "wasn't in the notes" and I wasn't promised that previously. All in all the stay was an annoyance from start to finish, and I wouldn't recommend the Palazzo under any circumstances. Billed as a more luxurious alternative to the Venetian, everything about it felt like a downgrade, from the appearance of the lobby to the level of service. The staff I interacted with possessed customer relations skills on the level I would expect from an airport hotel, not a property of alleged luxury. The only positive comment I can make is that at least the rooms were clean, which is a testament to the housekeeping team, given the size of each room. Unfortunately bringing any issues to the attention of management will get you nothing more than a generic apology and no true remedy for any inconveniences; definitely not a five star experience. Never again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great spot

Jun 18th, 2019

Had a great 3 night stay at the Palazzo! Upon check in we tried out the $20 trick, and were quickly upgraded from the venetian to the palazzo with a strip view! The room was spacious and very clean. The only downfalls for me were the location (far north on the strip), and that the pools were quite small. The venetian pools were closed during our stay, so the Palazzo ones were packed. Over all though, I would stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We were very happy with the beautiful suite we had in the Palazzo. We upgraded and included the concierge level access to breakfast, tea and cocktails and appetizers. It was fabulous. Everything was included in the price including complimentary drinks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We absolutely loved our stay at the Palazzo. The hotel is amazing. There is so much to see and do within the hotel. There is tons of shopping, entertainment, a spa, fitness center, beautiful pools, I can go on and on. The suites are GORGEOUS. We had an a breath-taking view of the strip and mountains from our suite. We did not want to leave. If you haven't booked this hotel, do it now; you will not regret it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
