Beautiful historic hotel

Jun 15th, 2019

I couldn't have asked for a more lovely hotel to stay in on my first trip to Memphis. It was a bit of a splurge but worth it. We loved the Peabody ducks and enjoyed a cocktail and dessert by the fountain. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had an adjoining room for the kids. We also enjoyed a cocktail on the rooftop. Watching the sun set over the Mississippi River is a memory I will always have. It's not often that the hotel I stay at is one of the highlights of my trip, but I can definitely say this about the Peabody! Even if you don't stay here, take the opportunity to visit this beautiful, historic hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Peabody Masters Excellence

Jun 14th, 2019

Our son was scheduled to be in Memphis on his 30th Birthday. I contacted the Peabody to schedule their “Ducky Day” package. This package allowed our son to stay overnight and to be the Honorary Duckmaster on the day of his birthday. My husband and I arrived early and booked our own room. Much to our dismay our son’s flight to Memphis was canceled due to bad weather. Attempts to reschedule his flight were not successful and finally at 1:00 a.m. we faced the disappointment that he could not arrive in Memphis in time to participate as the Honorary Duckmaster. Unable to sleep I insisted my husband go to the front desk and tell them. The front desk said they could not help but gave us a phone number and encouraged us to call despite the late hour. We called reservations and talked to Janice. She immediately went into action. She assured us we could make alternate plans. With her help we were able to move to another day pending the Duckmaster’s approval. Duckmaster Doug agreed to the change and could not have been more understanding. He is a master showman and made the ceremony to name our son “Honorary Duckmaster” a memorable experience. The concierge,Mindy, also made a special effort to see that our son received all the mementos that come with being the Duckmaster. This special treatment was present in every staff member we encountered. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The lobby was a beautiful place to sit with not being bothered to order something. The location was very convenient to Beale Street and many dining options. We could always count on Charles, a valet, to give directions or quickly retrieve our car. I can truly say that Southern Hospitality is valued at this beautiful hotel. Because of their efforts our son’s 30th Birthday was one for the ages! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rude Checkout

Jun 14th, 2019

My wife and I spent a three day weekend at the Peabody. At checkin we were greeted with smiles and Southern charm. They told us that part of our benefit/package we could get free breakfast each day as well as a complimentary drink. No mention of parking fees or any other "important details". What we found out upon checking out of the devil in the details. We were automatically charged for self parking despite I paid each day at the machine in the garage. That free drink, well that was only for one person each day, and at the Corner Bar, NOT at the Lobby Bar where the ducks do their thing. Breakfast, you guessed it,,,only for one person. Not both of us as explained upon checkin. But the part that wound my screws was the personal behind the desk demanded I show them the receipts from the self pay machine for parking. I was told they would not remove the charges and got all arrogant with me. I demanded to speak to a manager and then the young lady reluctantly "did me a one time favor" and removed the parking charges. I was very upset being treated that way as if I was some poor college kid looking for a free meal. After dropping a $1000 weekend, did she really think I'd sell my self respect for $26.00/day parking ??? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cute, but noisy

Jun 14th, 2019

We enjoyed staying one night here, but the street noise was quite loud all night. The check in process took a long time. We could not see the ducks due to the crowd. This is more of a party hotel, not a place for rest. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old South Tradition

Very well maintained and operated. Friendly staff. Good location. The staff is very knowledgeable about everything in the hotel. Great location for Memphis Music and Beale Street visit. Fairly easy access from the highway and other local attractions. The Peabody is definitely a place that I look forward to visiting again soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
