Beautiful location, underwhelmed with the rooms but happy with stay

Oct 28th, 2019

When we pulled into the resort and checked in, we had a pleasant experience. Staff was great at the front desk. Very prompt to getting us checked in after a long day of travel. The lobby looked amazing with a beautiful mountain view as you walk through the doors. When we booked this hotel. we reserved a double king alpine view. The photos they had on the website of the room views we thought we would be getting was exciting. Those same photos made the room appeared well-lit, spacious and updated. When we walked into the room, it was quiet the opposite unfortunately. The windows were small, didnt have a balcony that appeared wall-to-wall in the photos, and it was very dark since our window was obscured by trees on top of looking directly towards a neighbor's balcony. The positives though were that they did equip the room with a few fans (which i thought was odd) and a humidifier which was very much needed. The issue we found ourselves though was there was a lack of convenient spots for power outlets. If you have an extension cord you can travel with, you should pack it. Some of our outlets were not working. The lamps also did not have outlets built in as well. This was probably the biggest gripe I had throughout the stay. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Loved the double vanity sinks that were available. Very clean and not once did my wife and I feel like we were on top of each other. We also visited the restaurant bar one evening. The food was delicious for what we had. The staff there was also very attentive and had no problems having a conversation with their guests when it was as slow as it was when we went. The breakfast cafe was okay. Had I realized it was an easy walk to the mountain village in our first morning there, I wouldve went out that way for some breakfast but it also didn't help that it was 10 degrees the morning of. Overall, this is a nice resort to stay in if you plan on spending more of your time over in Telluride or in the Mountain Village outside of the ski season. We had a great experience with all the staff we encountered and no pressing issues with our room- just didn't hit my expectations after making a 11 hour trek by flight and car in one day. Keep an open mind and you'll definitely enjoy your trip here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unforgettable Experience

Oct 16th, 2019

The moment we stepped out of our shuttle bus we were greeted by a wonderful and welcoming staff. This weekend is one of the most important event in my family. We are celebrating the wedding of my youngest daughter and all our guests (45)were staying at this fabulous resort. The hotel location is amazingly breathtaking. The Front Desk was so smooth handling the checkin process. The Altezza Reception for the Farewell Breakfast was flawless and delicious. We also had the best experience from their spa. So, overall I will highly recommend this resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Desperately needs updating. Huge disappointment.

Oct 6th, 2019

We’ve stayed at the Peaks half a dozen times over the last nine years. In the past, every single stay was beautiful, clean, felt luxurious, and exceeded our expectations. This year was a major disappointment. It’s been two years since our last trip to Telluride, and the hotel has aged poorly. Stucco was missing in a few chunks on the outside of the building. Carpets in the room were old and in need of replacement. Baseboards and bed frames had big gashes in them – which I can understand toward the end of ski season – but this is September. It seems like nothing was repaired after the ski season. Perhaps we’ve been lucky in the past, but every room has always had robes and slippers. This time, we had none. I always enjoyed the plush robes. We really missed the nice touch. The worst, and most offending part of our room was the bathroom. Chipped sinks, moldy caulking, filthy shower doors and tile that looks to be 25 years old. I was shocked how desperately it needed remodeling. I’ve included pictures. I’ve recommended this hotel to everyone. It’s the Peaks! It’s gorgeous! Best views! But now? I could not and would not recommend the Peaks to anyone. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Telluride Colorado, a sanctuary of natural beauty!

Oct 1st, 2019

Three years ago we stayed at the Peaks Resort and Spa, I clearly remember walking into the lobby, the view was absolutely breath taking, dining on the patio was such a lovely experience. The service amazing and the menu delicious, the spa relaxing!! That being said, what registered most that day was the concierge "Coach" who greeted us at the door as if we were walking into our own home. As the years have passed we frequent the Peaks often. Watching Coach interact with others, making the guests feel so welcome. He is often playing his guitar or tossing his football to those who are willing to catch it! He has been a true asset for those wanting to explore Telluride and the surrounding areas, he knows this part of Colorado as if it were his own back yard! We are blessed to have the Peaks as our home away from home. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
