Grand Hotel that personifies Beverly Hills

Feb 19th, 2020

A class act that matches the wealthy neighbourhood it is situated in perfectly. A gem of a Beverly Hills hotel with absolutely great service and style. Hollywood glamour and panache palpable everywhere. This hotel literally oozed the feeling like it was meant only for the rich and famous ( which it wasn’t of course, but it just conveniently felt that way!). Dined at some of the restaurants in the hotel and spotted some celebrities and movie directors. Loved the complimentary Rolls Royce to Rodeo Drive....no better way to arrive in style for your shopping! And they pick you up after you’re done too. The pool area with the individual Cabanas ( that you pay extra for...and quite a bit more...be warned!) are truly delightful and they even put your name up when you book one. But the pool itself is kinda small....but lots of beautiful people all around though, and at close range. Lovely suite in very classic European style ( like the rest of the hotel) and everything about this hotel was just truly gorgeous. You were just surrounded by enjoyable and refreshing luxury everywhere. Being a Hong Kong-owned hotel, we were sondelighted we could get great Dim Sum for breakfast ( room service) taken in the lovely LA sunshine in the balcony of our room. That’s really unusual for a hotel in California to have dim sum for breakfast available as room service (and it was really great for us as Chinese Singaporeans who had been travelling for a month in the USA in Colorado and Alaska and missed great Asian/ Chinese food). Overall it was a great experience staying here at this landmark hotel in this chic part of LA. Expensive, yes, but in my opinion the splurge was worth it. Like they say, you only live once... Just loved this hotel albeit with one or two very minor niggles

Feb 9th, 2020

This is old-school, intimate and discrete. The drop-off area is beautifully proportioned and small and staffed with what seems to be an army of bell-boys and parking assistants and it works perfectly. They are a welcome sight, even after just arriving they would always welcome us back to the hotel as though we lived there. Reception is small but oh-so efficient that it never seems to be congested. Staff were quick and polite and always concerned about one’s well-being. As I said, this is old-school and the hotel is low-rise with longer corridors but once inside the rooms the views, even on the lower floors, are of sumptuous landscaping offering privacy and a connection to nature. The room was nice: thick pile carpet, an heavenly bed and quiet. It was not the largest of rooms and there are larger ones out there in the newer hotels but the decoration and arrangement made it feel quite spacious. Bathroom of course was nice but some of the fittings are a little dated nowadays. The decoration, I guess, has tried to achieve a balance between classic elegance and the Californian climate, meaning a lighter fresher feeling. I am not sure that they struck the right balance and I was left, ever so slightly, with a feeling of Disney decoration. Service: responsive, incredibly professional (perhaps as good as it gets) but there were a few issues. No coffee machine in the room and it finally took three calls and a trip to reception to get what we wanted. Even then we had to constantly remind housekeeping to refill the coffee, milk and provide enough water. Actually frustratingly strange and I am at a loss as to why they couldn’t get it right. This is a small issue and did not affect our love of the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A well managed property

Feb 9th, 2020

This is a very well run property. We stayed for a couple of days and the attention to detail and coordination of the Peninsula team was remarkable. This is obviously directed from the top as everywhere we went around the property at all hours GM Scott Berger was there to greet us and ensure a rewarding experience. Jesse is another standout mention who provided us with a brilliant brunch this morning. Scott, Jesse and all, thank you very much. We'll be back soon! Joe and Fairyal TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We liked this place a lot

Feb 5th, 2020

Service here is excellent. Very thoughtful. Efficient. Reliable. Courteous. Rooms are traditionally decorated but very functional and user friendly. Food was almost uniformly excellent. There’s a lovely pool area and interesting gardens. Well located for Rodeo Drive, Bel air and downtown LA. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The best of the best

Feb 5th, 2020

This place is amazing. Everything here is just perfectly done. From the decorations to staff to food. The staff here are the most friendly and helpful people. Nothing seems to be impossible for them. They would accommodate all the requests very easy. They have the best breakfast food I can imagine. Is my favorite spot. I cannot wait to be back here! Everything is flawless TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
