Everything You Want in a Hotel!
Jan 20th, 2021
My husband has fond memories a child when his dad worked just a couple of blocks from the hotel, and he and his brother were able to hang out at the hotel with a man who helped to run it. I had never stayed here, but we had a wonderful stay. Everything was what you want in a hotel - clean (!!!), comfortable, friendly and fast service, and a beautiful room. The location is not the greatest anymore; it was pretty loud at night but had settled down once we were going to sleep. I'd definitely stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wonderful hotel and great rooms

We travel to Chattanooga about twice a year and The Read House was the hotel we had always wanted to stay at but seemed every time we tried, they were booked up and I see why. This hotel is really cool. The decor, the vibe, the ability to bring the past to the present are all just amazing. The rooms were large and spacious. Bathroom area gave you plenty of room to get ready and everything was very clean. Beds are super comfortable as where the sheets. We ordered room service for a dinner, a breakfast, and then for desert. All of it was fantastic and moderately priced. We did eat at the steakhouse located in the restaurant as well called Bridgman's Chophouse. Staff and service were 5-star at this hotel!!! I really wanted to give this hotel an excellent rating but here is where it fell short (1) After a long day visiting around town, we like to wind down at the hotel bar, The Read House has a nice bar but the prices are excessive, to the point, we chose to go back out as it was somewhat insulting to charge such fees. We have stayed at 5-Star Hotels with lower price options. (2) Wanted to play some Billiard's but all of the pool cues are missing the tips. (3) Water pressure in shower - this is the one that was really disappointing. The water pressure was so bad in our room, it was like taking a shower out of a straw. My wife said it was about impossible to wash her hair. There were times I had to look up at shower head to make sure water was coming out. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Stellar Service, Sublime Accommodations and Top-Notch Food
Jan 15th, 2021
On a road trip with my oldest son back to college, we stopped in Chattanooga. We did not know how far we would make it on day one, so we booked The Reid House a few hours before arrival. From the moment I called and spoke with Wesley to checking in with Wesley greeting me with Champaign coupons, to valeting my car to dining at their amazing on-property restaurant with Eugene and Amy to learning about breakfast accommodations to extending our check-out time, the service was a 10 out of 10. The accommodations were quiet and luxurious, much needed after a 10-hour road trip. While we were the only patrons I could see in the hotel, which makes me sad that COVID has done this, we were treated in such a superior fashion. I can’t wait to plan a family vacation to Chattanooga just to stay at The Reid House. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at The Read House twice in 9 days as a midway point for our drive to and from Florida during winter break. The location is perfect in downtown Chattanooga, right off the highway. It has TWO restaurants and a bar located inside the hotel, so once we valeted our car we didn't have to leave the premises or go outside to get Starbucks or the a fantastic dinner. And if you don't want to leave the room, they had room service too! We stayed in the manor rooms both times, as I booked so last minute and even on the spot each time we stayed, so the tower rooms were sold out. The history of the hotel is fascinating and the renovation is gorgeous without losing the character. I truly can't wait to stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
I felt like a queen.

The historical value of this hotel is tremendous. It was honestly the best hotel experience I've ever had. We were fortunate enough to get a room right on the corner where we had a view of both MLK and Broad St. The design and style of the hotel was marvelous. It gave me the feeling of going back in time. If I could give you any advice on your stay... #1 the valet parking is worth it. Chattanooga is not the prettiest of places. There are alot of homeless people and it just felt better to know my car and belongings were safe...plus it's under $20 a day. #2 Make sure you ask for a tour to room 311. It's their haunted room where a young girl was murdered, and stayed in by Al capone. It also is available for booking the month of Oct. for 666.66 a night. #3 Learn the history of the hotel!! During the civil war the union army took it over as a hospital. It has also had alot of famous visitors such as Winston Churchill, Oparh, Prince, Elvis Presley and many others. The rooms may be a tad bit pricey, but once you experience the grandeur of this place...it is worth every penny. For sure it was the best part of my Chattanooga experience!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
