Set above the shops on King Street, the location is ideal for those who want to explore all aspects of the city. And no worries on the noise factor: shops close by 7 p.m. at the latest and you're a few floors up, so any residual action is nicely buffered.

The hotel lends bikes to its guests, a perfect way to explore the peninsula. And if guests are going farther afield, beach gear is available. Because the hotel sits right in the middle of Charleston's commercial district, outdoor space is hard to come by. The Restoration on King found the perfect solution: a rooftop terrace filled with minimalist lounge furniture, perfect for sky gazing and people watching.

While rates are high, they aren't outrageous for a small, luxury venue with only a handful of spacious rooms. Lots of little perks abound for guests as well.
