Clean Hotel but little issues

Jul 19th, 2019

Everything at arrival went well. Room was nice, clean and as expected. People were friendly. The issues I had were small but frustrating for a hotel of this stature. Even though I’m a member, was charged for WiFi. Visited front desk and they happily removed...but missed first day. Again visited and it was removed. A few hours later the last day charges were added, again with WiFi...third visit. Water and coffee was refreshed daily but...had to request tea bags each day??? Same issue with shampoo and coffee stir sticks, never refreshed. Had to grab a shampoo from cart as I walked by. Little things like this can ruin an otherwise good stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Feels like coming home

Jul 17th, 2019

For one reason or another we haven’t stayed at this hotel for a while. We were booked at another hotel in Atlanta but changed at the last minute and were delighted to get a Club Level room. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite. We loved all the newly refurbished rooms. The club level always feels like coming home at this hotel. Micah is amazing and is complimented by an amazing team of people. A special thanks to Tifoni who went above and beyond to accommodate my husband being gluten free for lunch. This really is a great example of how a large hotel can feel personal and welcoming. I think our only small negative was the slow and inconsistent service for breakfast in the Atlanta Grill. We will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful stay at Ritz Carlton Atlanta

Jul 10th, 2019

I had a wonderful stay at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Atlanta. My room was gorgeous and spacious. The front desk and housekeeping staff were all kind, helpful, and anticipated my needs. The bell and valet staff were also friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet at AG was delicious. I liked the cook-to-order omelet station together with the vast array of breakfast meats, pastries, and fruits. The fitness center on the 4th floor was also great. I appreciated the amenities in the fitness center, including the apples, Gatorade drinks, and vast selection of fitness equipment. This is one of the nicest hotels in Atlanta, and I will definitely come back the next time I am in town. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First Impressions Leaves Lasting Impressions

Jul 8th, 2019

I was really excited to stay at a Ritz for the first time, but I guess my expectations was too far reaching. We chose it because it was centrally located downtown. We had a red eye flight from Vegas and got in very early. We checked in at the front desk and asked it would be possible to get a quiet room, away from the main street and no connector doors as we always hear our neighbors with them. The woman said they would give us a peaceful corner room and we were fine with that, she did mentioned there were only so many available. We still asked for an early check-in since we got there early morning. And because it was early and we had not eaten, we asked about the closest Waffle House for breakfast, as we don't have them in Vegas. The front desk lady was against this and mentioned other breakfast options as if the Waffle House was too good for their guests. Boogie much! Granted it's not a fancy restaurant by any means, but to put your nose up our breakfast choice was a turnoff and insulting. We walked out and found a Waffle House a few blocks away. After walking and site-seeing for several hours we got back hopeful that a be a room available, by then it was close to 1PM, but no rooms were available. Exhausted after our flight and walk we sat on a couch at the lounge and rested up. We were waiting for about an hour when Greg @ the Bell Desk took notice and remembered us being there from earlier in morning. He felt terrible that we didn't have our room, so he checked with the front desk to see if one was available. Greg walked back and said they had something and we were happy to finally have a room. We were confused as to why no one at the front desk could walk over to us or call to tell us this. The personnel at the front desk could clearly see us sitting there and they knew how early we got there. We got to our room and was disappointed when there was a connector door. It was as if the front desk didn't listen to our request for no connector doors. We told Greg our dilemma and history with these doors and he suggested to give it a chance and try to take a nap. We were ready to go right back down to the lobby immediately, but he knew how exhausted were. He said to call if it didn't work out and he'd be there to assist. After Greg left, we try to get in a nap, but minutes later we could hear housekeeping talking to the guy next door very clear. We immediately called to get another room. Greg again was there to help transfer our bags to the new room and finally we were able to take our shoes off and relax. If it weren't for Greg, I don't know how much of our patience would have been left. The first room was roomier, but we would take silence over space any day. The second room worked out and it was quiet, so we had peaceful rest for the duration of our stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Plenty of outlets for the electronic devices, adequate number drawers. The TV was not too responsive, but overall a decent room. The Ritz is downtown so you cannot go wrong with the location. We hung out the bar and ate at the Atlanta Grill so these were nice places to chill. They hubby said the fitness room was nice. We would have had a much better experience if it weren't for front desk. The front desk sets the tone for your hotel experience and first impressions are hard to shake off. Especially, being that this is Ritz, I expected so much more. The next time we visit downtown Atlanta, we would try another hotel as there are many to choose from. I do need to give a shout out and thanks to Greg, he was very understanding and helpful! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not a 5 Star Hotel/Not worth the price

Jul 8th, 2019

The staff was great but the room was very disappointing. The room itself was small. The closet was tiny and the ac unit blowing made the closet door rattle all night. The couch was directly infront of curtained windows. No view, just into another building. Bathroom was large but no bathtub. I would not stay here again. The price does not match the quality.
