Smart hotel, great location, but pricey

May 16th, 2020

I stayed here with my wife for a treat by “cashing-in” a load of Marriott Bonvoy points – thanks Marriott for the free stay! The hotel is smart, and the staff are excellent – really friendly and “on-the-ball”. While this hotel is very nice, I’m not sure it would be worth the usual tariff, or the extra cost over the “standard” Marriott (there is one just 2 mins away). There is a small pool and small steam room/ spa, very clean but underwhelming. The best point of this hotel is that is literally 10 seconds walk from Potsdamer Platz and its transport hub. This is the first hotel we’ve stayed in with a switch beside the bed to open and close the curtains!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best Sleep and great location!

Apr 23rd, 2020

Convenient location and great service from everyone here! Also I can't stop raving about how great the beds here are. I always have trouble sleeping everywhere but their beds somehow just does the trick. Really had the best sleep here after a long days of sightseeing everyday. This location is also walk able distance to tourist spots. Their breakfast is also a must and especially their waffles. Their waffles just hits the spot! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent option in a perfect area of the city

Mar 25th, 2020

Living most of the time in Asia, you get used to the service culture that exists here. From a service standpoint, 3-stars in Asia can be 4 or 5 stars in Europe or North America. Therefore I was excited to experience the Ritz Carlton in Berlin, a city, I had visited many times. The hotel, located at Potsdamer Platz, is centrally located and easily accessible by train or taxi (or on foot from many areas!). Set in a modern structure, the hotel is located directly in front of the station entrance. Upon arrival however, it was disappointing to find that no one was available to assist with my baggage. After entering, the desk staff was helpful in quickly checking me in, and offering to assist to my room. The rooms are large, with plenty of space to stretch out. A daybed/sofa runs the length of the window side and offered a comfortable area to sit. Usual accessories, desk, etc are all present. Decor is modern. The bath is equally good sized, with both a shower and tub. I had forgotten my toothbrush and while there was none in the room, a quick call to reception was able to solve my issue. Room service was prompt, and the food quality was as you would expect at this caliber of hotel. Breakfast is offered in the main restaurant. The hotel was very busy, and seating was somewhat limited. I noticed several tables that hadn't been cleared (and weren't cleared for a little while). There didn't appear to be enough staff to adequately serve the number of guests. I needed to ask several times for my coffee to be refilled. However, once I got the attention of one server, she was very good about keeping my cup filled. I found the hotel to be a good option in the city, although I feel the price is higher than it should be for this quality of room and service. Price-wise, there are other hotels at this same range that I believe to be superior. Perhaps my experience is an outlier. But price aside, I find the RC Berlin to be a very nice hotel and I would certainly stay again if circumstances warranted. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel and Location

Mar 18th, 2020

This place is centrally located with all historic sites within a short walk away! We stayed at the Carlton Club suite which was amazing. The doormen always greet you with a perfect smile and their 6 pm champagne pouring is a must see. I would advice not to use their ATM machine as it charges too much money and the money changer around also convert currency at a poor rate. There are good restaurants near to the hotel and the Sony Center is right next to the hotel TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Neil Young in Berlin

The doormen made the trip for me. They were always so friendly and provided us with excellent suggestions daily. The hotel centrally located. When you walk around the immediate area notice all the bullet holes on the first floor of every older property. Sure makes you realize what a great era we are currently living in. We went on three private tours and not one mentioned this. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
