Wonderful honeymoon stay

We started our honeymoon with a stay in Boston and this was the perfect place for us. We booked on points which was brilliant value given the cash rates and 5 nights for 4, and thanks to my Gold status we were upgraded to a room with a view over the Common. We had been in email contact with the hotel before we arrived, and on arrival late at night we were warmly welcomed and found presents in our room from the hotel including a photo frame, bottle of wine, and chocolate covered strawberries. The staff were all friendly and remembered us by name throughout the stay, and we enjoyed some of the touches like the iced tea and biscuits served in the lobby. The location was great for us, in easy walking distance of all of the major points in the city, and it was also an easy Lyft ride to and from the airport. The room was really comfortable too, and having both a bath and shower was great. The only thing we didn’t try was breakfast in the restaurant as we were always out in the city in the morning with lots of good places within a short walk. We would massively recommend and it was a fantastic start to our honeymoon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I’ve stayed here a few times and each stay was consistently good. The location was close by to where the friends wanted to visit and the staff was friendly. There is vibrancy that is missing from this hotel that makes it magical, though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
rooms / services/ room benefits are at the level of a basic Marriott, not a Ritz!

We booked two rooms as a platinum Marriott member over Christmas last year. This was a family Christmas trip. Last year we spent Christmas in Montreal Canada at the Ritz and our experience was AMAZING! the Ritz Boston lobby was great, most lobby's are. Well before check in and at check in I mention that I was a platinum member. During this stay we received zero platinum benefits. Basic room, no coffee maker, no free water, view looking at the roof, frayed bath mat, peeling paint in the shower with mold, a hole in my pillow case and terrible motel 6 shower head. I left a review on trip adviser and was near immediately contacted by RUTH MADEBO, Assistant Front of House Manager. She was very nice and apologetic. She offered 60,000 points to be credited to my account. 60,000 points is barely enough for a single night at a Ritz and we had two rooms for 5 nights. I told her i would be in contact with her after we leave. After the holidays I reached out and she responded on the 28th. A few days later I responded and received this as an auto reply: Please note that as of December 31st, 2019, I am no longer employed at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston and this emal address will not be monitored. If you need any assistance in my absence please contact the manager on duty at 617-574-7100 Warm Regards, Ruth M Now I get to start all over with someone else. I reach out yet again since apparently the Ritz Boston can not monitor a past employee's work email with who knows how many important clients that are trying to contact them. I then hear from, MEGAN GROSOVSKY | Assistant Front of House Manager I have arranged to refund 60,000 points through Marriott Bonvoy to your account and would be delighted to offer a complimentary upgrade should you stay with us again in the future. Even though I feel this still doesn't fix the issue im going to drop it once that 60,000 hits the account. The second deposit doesn't credit. It takes a few more emails to get a response and after going back and for a few times she admits that the points she was referring too, were the ones already offered by the previous manager. I send her a few more emails after that that were completely ignored. My family wanted to stay at the The Liberty and I pushed for the Ritz due to our Montreal experience. I made a mistake and will attempt much deeper research if we stay at a Ritz again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton on Avery Street for one night. It is a lovely hotel with a beautiful interior. The rooms clean and comfortable with a huge bathroom offering separate shower and tub. I would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A lovely stay

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton on February 28th with a friend. Check in was slightly different, instead of the traditional check in counter, we were greeted and sat down at a desk. The front desk agent that checked us in was extremely warm and friendly. After checking us in, she got up and showed us how to get to the elevators. I had a king sized bed overlooking a lovely roof deck with grass. Had a nice view of the John Hancock tower. The room was very large and immaculate and had a couch and table. The bathroom was spacious and had a large walk in shower and large soaking tub (which I used later). There was a phone in the toilet closet which I thought was odd. Not sure who I would need to call while in there, but okay. My friend and I went down to the bar and had some drinks and a meat and cheeseboard. The server was great and efficient. A really vibrant after work vibe with the fireplace on and live music. We did not have dinner there, but did eat breakfast the next morning at the restaurant. Obsessed with their bacon. Overall an outstanding stay. The Ritz Carlton has a reputation for their quality of service, and I felt it lived up to it's reputation. The only con is that I stayed one night. I wish I could have stayed a few more days. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
